I remember being amazed that Dwight Yorke was wearing white boots that day. I can't remember any player in the country wearing them before then although I'm told Alan Ball was one of, if not the first. But in 1996 any other colour than black boots was still rare. Another reason why football was just better in the 90's.

Liquid football. What a side that was. I think we should have had a little more faith in Savo. Cracking player on his day. Stan's arrival pretty much signalled the end for him.
