My claret hoody failed miserably today. Bitterly disappointed to admit that edgy satsuma was right...however the hoody will be put in the wash to remove any of the negativity from todays result before Burnley.

The best by far is the 1978 Ipswich omen. I was there on the old Holte. After we slaughtered them 6-1, I thought Arsenal will batter this lot in the Final.  How very different it turned out.....I seem to recall a young David Geddis having a blinder for Ipswich? Maybe that role will fall to young Jack Grealish?

If we went my omens we would have won the cup another 7 times during my lifetime.  Just taking this as a one off with everything crossed.

One stat that has emerged is Arsenal's poor form against better teams.

Go on Villa go for it.

May have been mentioned... re: yesterday's gubbing, but the week before the '57 FA Cup win, we were tonked by the mighty Luton Town 3 - 1, at home too!

In 1978 we beat Ipswich 6-1.

A week later they went on to win the FA Cup....against....Arsenal.

I like that one......very much!

Ha!

I'm with you Des. To show my support for Burnley I'm gonna wear a claret and blue scarf to the game.

That 6-1 win was my first ever visit to Villa Park and this omen is undoubtedly the one.

The week before Ipswich won the cup in 1978 we beat them 6-1.

Ipswich have also played Southampton.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned that we beat Ipswich 6-1 before they beat arsenal in the Cup Final.

What we really need is for a Gypsy lady to knock on Randy's door and sell him a sprig of lucky heather before the final.
