Hopefully that means I can enjoy my away trip to St Mary's next week with friends from Chichester and Andover. Think we are pretty much safe now

Hopefully! I do wish Leicester & Sunderland would stop winning bloody games though.

Collins was very good at the back for them today. Shit myself when he got on the end of that corner towards the end, but the ball going 3' wide was a familiar outcome.

Should have done enough to stay up now, well done Burnley first of all makes things a little easier,  but TS has done amazing, not just the results but the performances and style of play.

Hopefully this will be the last time we are panicking in April for a long time, become to much of a habit in recent seasons.

Cleverley had an excellent game, probably man of the match. He might be worth keeping hold of.

Yes Richard, if it wasn't bad enough that the takeover bid was linked with Tony Adams, apparently he thinks it's David O'Leary who is connected with the bid. Tool.

thought we were very poor in the second half but did just enough for the win. Need to finish the last two games strongly to set us up nicely for the cup final. We overplayed the ball a lot today in the forward areas, passing for the sake of passing. The times we went direct and committed players, we created our goal and other chances. Fair play to Collins bossing Benteke but that shouldnt really be happening. The big man still has a lot to learn about the game. Cleverley was our best today for sure.

Given 5, Bacuna 7, Okore 7, Vlaar 7, Rico 6, Westwood 7, Delph 7, Cleverley 8, Grealish 7, Nzogbia 5, Benteke 5.

Hutton 5, Gabby 4, Sanchez 5

I agree benteke wasn't great. That's very harsh on nzogbia though.

Cleverley was definitely motm.

Our view from those around us was that Jores Okore was the best player on the pitch. Tom Cleverley put in his usual shift and scored but put a few passes astray. Worried about Given however. When the West Ham player.(was it Nolan? )stood his ground at a corner Given failed to impose himself in any way and missed the ball. I would prefer it if Guzan came back with immediate effect.

James Collins played very well for them as I expected he would.

Okore looks very much in control. Westwood has been playing really well since he came back.

I thought grealish faded quite a lot as the team didn't know whether to stick or twist. Great ball for gabby at the end but gabby looked well, well off the pace

The usual dominant first half at home nowadays but blimey that second half aged me even more than I look.

We just had to see out that game though especially with Hull losing and we're very close now to survival.

Given is just scary for corners. Guzan has the strength to mix it up with opposing big men, Shay doesn't, particularly when playing against a badgering team like West Ham.

Played well in the first half but lost the midfield in the second half when Allardyce brought Song on. Very nervy as the game went on and Gabby should have dispelled all fears by burying that late chance. But 3 very valuable points and all but mathematically safe. Amalfitano is a nasty little shit. Reports of fisticuffs before the game and horrendous traffic delays afterwards, but otherwise a good day at the office

Cleverley was my player of the match. A step closer to safety. Excellent first half performance from the team. Still nervous, though.
