Another decent win and performance. A lot of us said that there was a decent team there and now it's showing. Delph and Cleverley really make the team tick with their energy.

As for the ref, he was appalling bad. The penalty was dubious enough but there was one foul he gave against Benteke which was just ridiculous and telling Grealish to get up after being fouled twice in the space of 10 seconds was just arrogance. Thank god he's not reffing the cup final.

It was the Jack one that pissed me off, the first incident he was straight back on his feet.
He certainly gave clattenburg a good glare.

I loved Grealish's fake that put McCarthy on his backside, what a player he will be.
Anyone vine it ?

Here you are, no idea who Jason Price is but a lovely vine:

Think we need to lay off Clattenburg a bit, he is by far the best ref in the country right now and one iffy game doesn't change that.

Anyway, it really was a good performance and a bit result for us.  Everton are a good side, in good form, and with a great recent record at VP. It was good that we were able to carry the performance level over from last week, and Benteke kept his impressive run going, and Cleverly's goal should just add to his growing confiderence too.

Its a big step to us staying up, its still tight down there.  I would say a couple more points should do it.  Personally I think we will beat West Ham next week and that will be the issue settled and we can just look forward to the final then.

We don't have to lay off him at all. I don't really care how he performs against other teams, if he is a shit ref when we play then that's what matters.

And on what grounds is he the 'best ref in the country'?

Yep, i think 'best ref in the country' is stretching it a bit.

On the grounds of this season I say.  Do you disagree with that?  Fair enough if so.

On your other point, everyone has bad games.  I'm sure he has been in change of us more than once this season and 9 times out 10 he does a really good job, it was just bad for us that we caught him on an off day.

One things for sure, we would have been goners by now with Lambo

without six points against Spurs and Everton we would be on the brink in any case.

Clatterfuck had a woeful game, giving them everything unfairly. He looked so excited to give them the pen, he couldn't point to the spot quickly enough.

For a long time I think Webb has been, but Clatterberg has been progressing a lot, and based on this seasons form has taken the spot I think.

I actually agree, whenever I've seen Clattenburg I've usually been very impressed. That's all the more reason to have a go at him for yesterday, though, because that was a bit of a shocker (though the penalty was a fair decision, I think).

I liked the MOTD analysis, for once. It's interesting how we really are playing a sort of diamond, but with all sorts of freedom for the front players which Phil Neville demonstrated. I also liked how Murphy emphasised the variety in our play, because I think the high balls to Benteke which they showed were the only ones we played all match, actually - it was mostly football along the lines of the 51-pass move. As Sherwood said, they're passing well and quickly.

I said the same thing yesterday.

I just have no idea what you are basing it on. He's been in charge of three of our games and around forty overall.

Was he particularly good in Leicester - West Ham? Hull -Swansea? Stoke - Everton? Southampton - QPR? West Brom - Palace? What's he done better in those forty-odd games that the others haven't that makes him 'by far the best'?
