It was just a very thorough, comfortable home win against A side in form

If we stopped giving away stupid goals in every single game it would help a lot though. As I said prior to the game, we're having to be two to three goals better than teams to beat them at the moment. We're missing Clark a lot and who would have thought that at the start of the season?

The exciting thing is that we have other players who offer an attacking threat, Gabby and Sinclair, who weren't even out there yesterday but give us options as well.

I would definitely do what we can to entice Cleverley and Sinclair to sign. Add another couple of bodies to the midfield in addition and we will be strong enough in that department to cope with our European commitments.

Among the many transformations the greatest miracle to me is how we have become so good to watch. Benteke's first goal from Delph's cross was was straight out of the textbook, I quote, "jump four feet in the air, hover there for two seconds, look where the goalie with upside down head is and bullet the ball past him".

Impressive marking for Benteke's second. At least Barry was doing a good job to make sure Stones wasn't going to score.

The thing that has amazed me more than anything since Sherwood arrived is how we have gone from a team who just could not score and did not look like scoring,to a team that looks like they could score every time they attack.

Yes quite. They both obviously went for  Okore in the first place and than got in each others way.

I loved Grealish's fake that put McCarthy on his backside, what a player he will be.
Anyone vine it ?

It was like the Ali Shuffle putting Sonny Liston on his arse. One for the scrapbook of great Villa moments.

Jack reminded me of a matador when he put McCarthy on his arse. Such arrogance. There was a touch of George Best about him too.

A measure of how one sidedly bad Clattenberg was that it took him a whole game to realize that Everton intended to clog us into submission and he still missed the blatant foul on Given for their second.
