Clattenburg attempted to keep the game flowing and to keep his cards in his pocket - they could have been several other cards for both sides but is that what we really want?
How many of us were closer that Clattenburg to both the penalty or the 2nd goal - I guess the majority posting would be in the Holte ........ great eyesight !
We can always disagree with a referee (I know only too well as referee myself) but to read him being slated on here tonite I do think is unfair
How many points now does a team need to avoid relegation ?
About 45?
If we ignore QPR and Burnley - Leicester can get a maximum of 43 - which is the lowest of the teams contesting the 3rd spot.
But they have to play Sunderland so if they win that Sunderland could only get 42. So that means by my maths we need 43 to be absolutely certain which we can only get by winning all 3 so Sir Tim is correct.
2 wins and a draw (7pts would give us 42) and I can't see all the others winning every game.
Goal 2
Was Howard trying to claim offside then?
Clattenburg cooked his goose failing to even stop the game for the attempted colonoscopy on Delph, and went downhill from there.
We'd never have played like that under Lambert. I am actually sitting on the edge of my seat when we go forward. Cleverly and Bacuna were very good and Delph was exceptional. I don't like to criticise the referees but he had a bad game. He let them take it in turns to foul then gestured to Baines he'd book him after another foul and then failed to do so.
Mark Halsey was saying Clattenburg should've been the referee for the cup final but on today's showing, thank goodness he isn't.

I expect a referee to officiate the game fairly and apply the laws of the game. He had an abysmal game, and no, I don't want him to keep his cards in his pocket when Villa players are being assaulted. He also missed all sorts, like the Everton player pulling Benteke back.
Agreed. He had a shocker.
"We've got our Villa back" ringing round the back of the Holte, excellent!
Brilliant win. Now Forest's season finished, do we get Gardner and Bent back? Would be useful additions to the squad, especially Darren, who's been scoring for fun lately.
What a loathsome , underhand gecko Naismith is.Was hoping Hutton would have , ahem, taken him out.
Not having seen the match, can I ask a serious question regarding the referee? Were the questionable decisions the same for both sides?

Derby fucked up though, didn't they. Only needed a draw for a play off place.

Yes because Clatts tries to keep the game flowing .....

Put it this way. You've heard of a 'homer' .Today we had an 'awayer'.
The through ball by Bacuna for the third was superb, great vision to spot the run, perfectly weighted and right in Cleverley's path.
I think if people are slagging the ref after a defeat or draw you could put some of it down to sour grapes. However with so many feeling the need to criticise his performance after a good, exciting win, I'd say its a fairly safe bet that he had a shocker. The foul by Coleman on Given was absolutely blatant and obvious, and should have been easily spotted by any ref with normal eyesight.
