Defensively I expect a very difficult game. Lennon will have a field day.

Everton's counter attacking game could really hurt us. Sherwood has gone for his usual fight fire with fire. It's all very entertaining but it's points we need right now, more so than ever.

It may be the case. But Sterling/Coutinho et al, didn't at Wembley. I thought the semi final was Richardson's finest game for us yet. I'm not his biggest fan, if truth be told, but he did clear Stevie fucking G's header off the line. And for that, I'll always have a mild soft spot for him.

Strap on a pair people, we'll do them, no worries.

Coming from my favourite pantomime dame, that made me laugh. The thought that you're usually wrong didn't. ;)

I think I'm more nervous than the semi final. Surprise me, Villa!

Oh god, Murphy is the reporter at our game on R5, always a bad omen and he loves seeing us lose

Murphy's a tw*t. Heard him trying to wind up Pearson yesterday after he'd apologised to the journalist he called an ostrich. Typical Murphy looking for a cheap shot.

It was a battle of the twats and by a country mile Pearson was proven to be the bigger one. And a thick plank at the same time

I think playing near enough the same team every week is a dangerous game. We have other players back supposedly fit now.............use them!

I keep seeing how Murphy supposedly hates Villa and loves seeing them lose and have no idea why people think that. Over the years I've heard him say many positive things about Villa, he did come across as a bit of a twat with Pearson though.

which is probably very telling - how can you interview Pearson and come across looking a twat?

I don't think Murphy hates Villa. He just has become rather bitter that the access he once enjoyed is no longer available to him.

Come on Villa!! Time for NZog to stand up and be counted here but very pleased to see Sinclair back in the squad as he can make a big difference. My money's on Baines to score first and Villa to win 2-1.

Everton will hopefully not put in as many crosses, so maybe Given's better form on the other stuff will count for something.

I actually thought Given was ok on the crosses at Wembley

Monty once read a blog written by a Newcastle fan which said that Given was crap at crosses and his mind was made up.

Zing.

A win today and 14th place beckons. I'm quietly confident.

Who has a harder game today, us or Sunderland?

I think Murphy sees himself as a sort of conscience figure there to challenge and be more probing and high brow than the standard reporter. It can come across as very negative but often I think he thinks he is looking out for the good of the club he is reporting on.
