This is getting mental. Just watched the Prince William interview, read the interviews with our three surviving players from 57, now the scarves, it's none stop and my nerves have finally started to kick in big time. I'll be meeting up with my father tomorrow and I know all conversation will be about the game. Saturday is going to be one of the longest days of my life, I can feel it and there's no where to hide. I've hardly got any work done this week and I'm normally really calm before games, even the big ones but this one is so different.
Couldn't we get him to ask his Gran to buy us off Randy?

Anyone else going through phases? I've had days where I'm confident of victory and then I have days where I think we're going to get hammered.

Tim Sherwood is relishing putting Villa in the history books by leading them to FA Cup glory this weekend - and he insists that belief is the key ingredient.Sherwood has much admiration for Arsenal and their long-serving boss Arsene Wenger. He says that the Gunners are the "best footballing side" in the Barclays Premier League. But he's confident his "underdogs" can turn the tables on the holders on Saturday.Manager Sherwood has faith in his team - and he is confident his players have faith in themselves to go and perform on the biggest stage. He said: "It feels good to be involved this weekend."We are excited at the prospect. We know it's a big occasion. To be involved in an FA Cup final is a fantastic achievement for the football club."It's a one-off game. Form goes out of the window."Everyone has a chance to make a name for themselves. The club haven't won a trophy for a long time so it's an opportunity for everyone to write the history books again."I thoroughly believe we will get a performance like the one we put in against Liverpool. You have to believe that."Hopefully we can nullify Arsenal's threats and take the game to them. That's what we intend to do."Arsenal are the favourites. They've been there and done it before. They are the holders of the trophy. It will be very difficult for us."But we're not going there to make the numbers up. We aim to give them a good game."I know what the boys are capable of and they have proved that in this FA Cup run."On the big occasions they have produced the goods. They need to do it one more time."I think we've been underdogs all season. The games - when pressure has been on us - we've actually produced - away at Tottenham, at Wembley against Liverpool in the semi-final, that huge game we had in the FA Cup against West Brom."We managed to put in good displays and they have been good enough to get us victories so I'm hoping we can do that again."This is an opportunity to pick up another trophy for this fantastic football club and for the players to put themselves in the history books. There's a hero in that dressing room somewhere."My message to the fans is 'enjoy the day.'"We want to make sure we're back there in August for the Community Shield because that means we've won the FA Cup. Then we have a European campaign to take care of as well."I want them to enjoy the day and believe. We need to believe in that dressing room and on that pitch. There's nothing wrong with believing."We know we're going to be the underdogs but we quite relish that fact."We've pulled it off by staying in the league and we need to pull it off by winning the FA Cup."We are not going to win it by not passing the ball. We need to move the ball around the field and get our expansive players on the ball in areas of the field that can hurt Arsenal because we can't just look to nullify."We need to nullify Arsenal's threats with our own."Sherwood spoke of his admiration for the Gunners - and their boss Arsene Wenger. He continued: "I think they're probably the best football team in the league. If you let them play, they can hurt you."They have players who can win a game by themselves. They are a top, top football team."They have proved that in the Premier League over many years. They are obviously the holders of the competition too."Arsene Wenger believes in his philosophy and he doesn't sway from that. He sticks to his beliefs. I know exactly how Arsenal will play. I admire him for sticking to his guns."They have an opportunity to win another trophy. We have to make sure we stop them."Sherwood admits winning the trophy would be big news for Villa - and for the younger generation of supporter coming to B6 next season and in the years to come.He added: "They have never seen a trophy lifted."The older generation have seen a lot of history and they remember good times."Their sons and family members are probably fed up of listening to it and they want to see some themselves."So I'm just praying I can give them that."Sherwood confirmed that Shay Given and Kieran Richardson are back in training. He said he's not decided his cup final keeper yet while he added that the fit-again left-back was a "possibility" for the weekend.

Losing because we tried everything but lost to the better side on the day is something that is very much a part of sport.
There's a picture of Benteke celebrating Delph's goal at Wembley. It's one where he is turned to the crowd giving it the big one while behind him the other players are congratulating Delph. It's a brilliant picture.

It's a brilliant picture. My favourite video image from that game was Benteke's reaction to scoring, Delph runs over to congratulate him and the look of shock and amusement on Delph's face at Benteke going absolutely crazy is a real joy. God knows what Benteke was screaming but it almost scared Delph away.
