People saying "well it will be a good day out" are getting short shrift. I tell them I'm not a Baggies fan!
I want to win this fooking thing and not have "a nice day out" - don't fuck about Villa - WIN!

I went to the Man United final a couple of years ago and don't see how it's possible to have a 'good day out' when you're team is on the wrong side of the score.

Exactly! You go to win - I go to see history; to be part of history

No matter how much I enjoyed stuff before the game, 2000 was one of the worst, if not the worst, Villa day of my life. No fun to be had from losing a final.

I went with a new bird. I had lots of fun. Still, I was pretty miserable afterwards until I saw Craig David back at the hotel. I told him that my girlfriend (now wife) loved him and she'd be really impressed if he came over as if he knew me and said hello. Good as gold he did. "Hello Steve, long time no see, how's it going"?

She was horrified as I replied "Fuck off Craig, can't you see I'm with a bird"?

calculated I had a 7,500 round trip to 2000 final, lost 4 days work and all other sundry expense. It was shit. didn't feel proud of the team after the game. Hope we give it a go this time at any cost.

Am proud to say my late dad was a good friend of Peter McParland, he played for Distillery in the Irish league and came over to Brum around the same time

Did baker look match fit today? Imagine he might have played anyway

Petrified about left back position. It can't be zoggy surely!  Probably lowton, but why not give him a game there today?

I've just got a nasty feeling the game could be over before we get started if we defend like we've done of late

The thought of Zog against Theo Walcott or Alexis Sanchez is completely terrifying.

I was wondering why on earth we didn't play Guzan today. After the last few weeks I wouldn't have an issue with Guzan back in for the final.

You'd imagine Walcott will start next week after his hat trick today and they will target that area relentlessly. Just a shame Cissokho is completely out of favour now as he's still the best defensive full back at the club.

Seems pretty clear with Given injured and doubt you could not risk Guzan today ......Steer cup tied .....Guzan picks up an injury ...why would play in goal?
