I have a few hundred pennants for sale that I swiped off seats early on.
Swap you with some Petrov masks (Wigan)!

I was selling the fanzine outside the away end that day so I sent RedSox in early to make sure he got me a Petrov mask. Poor RedSox has to get tat for me and put up with a scarf out the window when we do away games. He loves me as a passenger!

That reminds me, do you need any tat brought back from the States next month ?

A long shot I know but if anyone knows of a client ref with 5 games I could have for tomorrow I would be extremely extremely grateful. I have a mate who's been to a few games but didn't have the games assigned to a ref no. Yours in hope, villabear. Mods feel free to move if appropriate.

I was sitting in the office this morning having the first brew of the day when I overheard two blokes talking about their failure to get a ticket. I think it hit me then that not only are we really, really about to play in an FA Cup Final, but somehow, I've got a ticket to see it.

Trying not to think about it, starting to feel seriously nervous now.

Only eight more sleeps!

Two and a bit, more like. Tonight, tomorrow, get Burnley out the way. Gotta be honest, it still feels like it's not properly sunk in with me yet, so I envisage waking up in the middle of Sunday night in a bit of a flap, shouting "Fuuuuuuuck, we're in the bastard Cup Final!!" at the top of my voice, and that being it for a week.

On the actual game

I think both teams have decent fire power, both main strikers can score either team or individual goals - actually against Giroud I think we have better in the beast.

Both Keepers can be good / ropey in equal measures

Both defences are weak and can / will concede, ours is shambolic at times and theirs open to exploitation by pace and width.

The key is the centre

They have (if they turn up) a world class set up  - let them play football and they can wipe the floor with anyone - the answer is high energy pressing not allowing them time on the ball.

Our midfield is full of youthful energy with Delph and Cleverly leading the league in output and ground coverage

I am rambling now as I am just soooooo excited

Danny Wellbeck looks like he'll be missing the final. Now just the other key players.

The dreaming has started. Last night it was a Benteke header that was fumbled into the net by the Arsenal keeper. Can't remember the rest but we won 2-1.

I'm really enjoying this period. Being so far away I don't have the continuous reminders that you fellas so I forget and then suddenly remember "oh fuck, the Villa are in the Cup Final". And I get another little kick out of it.

I don't want it to end in a way. I almost don't want the final to come just In case the worst happens........
