Up to now my Dad has said that he doesn't want to go because he is getting on a bit and doesn't know how he'll cope. This is the same Dad who runs Rock and Roll dances across the south coast every weekend, coaches about 250 young athletes 3 nights a week and weekends, and plays league 1 table tennis on a Monday night. He is 78!

Then, when I rang him and told him I'd managed to find us tickets for the Southampton game (where he lives), he thought I meant the cup final, and there is no doubt that he was really excited (although when I put him straight he pretended not to be!).

So - if anyone ends up with a loose ticket for any reason - my old Dad would secretly love to be surprised with one! (And isn't hiding it very well!)

On today's evidence so far we better fucking up our game against Arsenal.

Just luring that lot into a false sense of security.

Got it out of our system? Or... something? Desperately groping for positives.

I'm glad to get this out of the way before Arsenal.

Agree, but all of a sudden I'm not as confident

We were never going to beat Arsenal by outplaying them anyway, at least this means we're not going to give that a go with the attackers Arsenal have.

To the chaps that supplied me and the missus with a Southampton booking reference, I'm sorry you actually had to go to that.

It was better being there, at least we had a laugh as a group of fans in the second half.

Today's result will have no bearing on how we do in the final. We would have needed to "up our game" against them in any case. We had a 30% chance of beating them  and that is still the same. We have to either introduce chaos into their ranks and/or hope they don't turn up. If they are at their best and we let them play than we will be done.

We've secured our premiership place, now we mobilise for Wembley, we can concentrate all our resources on that, we can win that football match, I wrote before the Semi that Liverpool have nothing over us, and we annihilated them, Arsenal are likewise, forget this seasons results against them - this is an entirely different Aston Villa now - and they know it.

Today is a timely kick up the arse before May 30th. Rest legs next weekend , play some fringe players, arsenal have 2 tough games to play before they face us.
