Trending on Twatter at the moment is an idea that Villa & Arsenal fans will sing Happy Birthday to Steven Gerrard in the 35th minute of the final.  I believe that's called banter.

I am loving that !!!

Southampton  V  Aston Villa  Sat 16 May  12:45

Hmm...not if it means that Arsenal are officially the home team as that means we'll not be wearing claret and blue  :(

Anyone got any ideas how much a club wembley ticket for the final will cost? Also any guesstimates on how much the standard tickets will be going for on the black market? I'm not going to qualify for a ticket so guess I need to start saving... Well done Villa brilliant day yesterday.

In recent years we have a much better record against Arsenal when not wearing claret and blue.

Hey Leeg, if you're going to edit my thread title, please can we go back to what I originally called it before I changed it to be specifically about the KO time

ie....."FA Cup Final Pre-Pre-Match Thread"

EDIT - done it myself. I didn't know that us meet mortals could override a Mod edit

It's your thread so you can call it what you want, but personally I think it would be a better idea to have information and questions, etc in the run-up to the Final itself all in one thread to save multiple postings.

Ok Leeg. That makes sense.

Feel free to put it back to how you had it

Sound. Will do.

Got home at 11:30 last night so it's going to be at least 01:30 in the morning for a 5 pm kick off. Given it's a Sunday the following day - what's the rush back? How easy would it be to get a room?

Well, the IBIS is full (good bar yesterday BTW) but the Holiday Inn and the Hilton Hotel across the road to Wembley have rooms available. Now I know that £199 (Holiday Inn) and £275 (Hilton) for the cheapest is a lot of cash, they clearly bump the price up for Final and who can blame them.

However, if you have Hilton Honours Points it's still only 50,000 points for the night - which is a proper, proper bargain. I reckon they forgotten to update the website. If you have HH Points, I would get in quick.

TGI's after the game and fall into a drunken sleep upstairs. Sunday eating breakfast looking out over Wembley, reflecting on only 3rd FA Cup Final Aston Villa have played in the last 58 years (is that correct?)

Happy Days.

A King Hilton Guestroom at the Hilton Metropole, where we stayed on Saturday, is £100 more for 30th May.  :( However, as soon as I arrived on Saturday and was able to park in parking space 74 (year we were founded) and upgraded to room 871 (3 of the four digits from the year we were founded!) from which room in the west tower we could see Wembley, I knew Sunday was going to be a good day.

Hilton wembley rooms starting at about £400 on 30th May at moment.
Luckily I booked the premier inn as banter on a flexible back in Jan. I've got the Friday and Saturday held at £75 a night.

£280 is the cheapest I've found considering you'd pay £250 for Club Wembley where you could be surrounded by Arsenal twats that's not too bad.

I'm going to be in Peru, celebrating a tenth wedding anniversary.
Anybody's in particular?

Incidentally, just having a stickied thread on here called "FA Cup Final..." is thrilling in itself.

Oh yes. Isn't it just!

Don't see why we can't wear claret & blue.

Villa and Arsenal never play each other with both wearing home kits (same when we play other all-red teams, Manure and them lot from yesterday). I guess the white away shirts do evoke the spirit of '82. Just make sure when we win the cup, our players don't swap shirts and end-up in the opposition's shagging colours in all the victory photos.
