After coming home at 11:30 watching the full game twice and then every night getting the kids to fast forward to 88 mins...I might spend Friday night watching the game build up and analysis... All 4:45. If any One deletes this off my tivo box....I will have a tissy fit.

I always had the utmost respect for the on-field Liverpool; off the field anything but

Anyone who was at Anfield in 1977 when we beat them emember the awful way they behaved.
Bricked the coaches on the way in; ambushed on Stanley Park; attacked with fireworks on the terraces (with Police watching); fighting our way back to the coaches past the Littlewoods Pools building to find most windows smashed for a jouney home in November. The vile racism towards Black Villa fans etc etc.

At VP I recall them chucking a lad through a plate glass shop window. Thankfully they seemd far more reasonable on Sunday

Yes, it was pretty nasty at the Anfield Road End that day.

Yeah old man villa fan i was with my father and brother that day and it was scary. We had left my mother in the city centre and arranged to meet her at 6pm.Was around 7.30pm when finally got to meet her. Was loads of their thugs everywhere looking for Villa fans and we had to nip into a local supermarket to wait for things to calm down

hey Olly, you know there's an irony in you saying that given how much you love the competition!! Don't you want this to go on forever?

Just watched Rodgers press conference. We think Sherwood is arrogant, that guy is something else considering they lost a semi final to a side the world expected them to beat.

I watched the highlights again on iplayer last night. I don't think I could tire from watching the second goal. Was it Benteke that did the backheel at Anfield a couple of seasons back too?

yes sir. To to an onrushing Weimann who belted it into the bottom corner. And that goal was as much about the total number of passes and movement as it was about the finish

Not sure if this has been mentioned but for the equaliser , CNZ does so well to move out the way. An assist almost.

He also did well to win the header to start the move for the winner.
Yep, you wouldn't put heading on his cv but he's done well. Big game player ?

We need more big(gish) games then. Starting tomorrow - a couple of assists in a 2-1 from CNZ.

Then FA Cup win and then Europa League - Valencia, PSV, Fiorentina, Dynamo Kiev, etc..

Get some of our money back at least. At least he has now avoided the Stephen Ireland comparison as most ineffective player of recent years based on monies imparted.

He worked very hard in the SF last week. We now have the versatility to rotate between 3 genuine wide options and I can see us getting another winger in too in the summer. I think Sherwood likes to mix it up a bit and keep things fresh. It won't shock me at all to see Sinclair back in this weekend against Man City and N'Zog rested. And I purposely didn't mention Gil because he seems to be the odd man out here at the moment, which I hope corrects itself and he starts playing a role this season and into next.

I'd be surprised to see Sinclair as he's loan tied.......

Have just read this thread with glee over the week and all of you have just echoed my thoughts, nothing I can really add except THANK YOU to the team, manager, staff and fellow Villains for restoring us to where we belong. It was so good to share it with my eldest before he heads to Cambridge Uni and the land of Brian Green.

Once Premier League safety is hopefully secured I will be able to enjoy May 30th again with my lad.

and me Walmley_Villa......hope he enjoys it down here..

Thanks Doc. He should be going to St Johns to study Economics. Time allowing he may also be working for Mr Green!
Always thought St John's did First Aid!

And we all work for Mr Green...that's how he got where he is today!
;-)

Hope he has a great time Walmley_V...best days of yer life!

No, no, no!  St John was definitely off-side in 1967!
