Yes we may lose the final. Still likely. But what our nearest and dearest are more upset about is that we're in the Final. They're unlikely to win anything for a very very long time, if again. They know we, however, will always end up in a final sooner or later and if not this year then sooner or later we'll be adding more silverware. if only for a few weeks the Villa are back and we're being talked about again.

I also think the Man City game is perfect for us. Lose and we're right back amongst it and it will stop the players thinking about Wembley but concentrate their minds on the immediate importance. Hopefully anyway. Draw or win and its just an added bonus.

Sturridge is a good player but he's constantly injured
Fifteen different injuries since joining Liverpool in January 2013. Lots of of players would go through a career with fewer injuries than that.

Michael Owen was saying you never come back stronger from the type of injury he suffers from, it always just gets worse. He should know.

Maybe Sturridge wasn't really injured, he's just a mad-keen Villa fan and wanted us to win  ;)

Has anyone managed to obtain a link for the full match?  I'm desperate to re-live it.

Didn't feel we could do it -up until I seen the teamsheet come through with no Sturridge.

And even then, I felt with the quality Liverpool possess, they would still find a way.

But as we've seen earlier in the season, take Sturridge and Sterling out of the side (and Sterling's recent form amounts to the same thing) and they look a midtable outfit.

Arsenal are different.

Sanchez and Ozil are different class -as they should be at £50 million +

But Arsenal beat us comfortably at their place minus Sanchez.   They can lose a few key players and it doesn't seem to disrupt them.

One thing we have in our favour is I can't recall too many sides retaining the FA Cup, even sides who have dominated the game during various eras.

Arsenal are favourites clearly, but I think our performances against them this season are pretty much irrelevant now. We're a completely different team.

There was no way Wigan would beat Man City, or Sunderland would beat Leeds, or Wimbledon would beat Liverpool.

Crystal Palace had no chance of beating Liverpool in the semi-final after losing a League game to them 9-0 earlier in the season.

As Paul says, we are a different team now.

If it is our day, it is our day.

Please, God, make it be our day.

Commentator's scouse accent is a bit thick, but this link seems to have the whole match (edit: well from 14mins anyway).

Going to watch the game tonight for the first time since seeing (most of) it live on Sunday. (Thank you London Transport for closing the Central line at Acton North and then closing the feckin Jubilee line before we got to Bond street. We had to walk from there and missed the first 20 minutes you bunch of inbred cocksockets!)  Looking forward to seeing it while not wound up tighter than a two-bob watch spring.  I thought my days of singing at a match were long gone but there was me belting out "Villa 'til I die" and "ooooh Christian Benteke" at the top of my lungs. That "roar", instigated by the beast himself waving us on sent shivers down my spine.  I'm still hoarse now two days on and my face still aches from the grinning but I care not!

Paul Lambert's bitter other half speaks:-

"James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey  1h1 hour ago
But Villa fans, as #BCFC fan @TheSpecialRon pointed out amid Villa's jubilant celebrations, you don't get the trophy for winning the semi!!

If the tosser thinks we've overreacted to a semi-final win, wait until they see us when we win the fucker.

The brief shot of Jack Grealish in that clip is great. Is he fighting the tears back or just plain feelng the pressure?
