All the Liverpool fan at work has gone on about is the Balotelli non-goal. He is not happy.

All three of our players stopped playing by the time he put it in. I would have liked to see him score like that with Okore crowding him out of Given spreading himself more.

I pointed out that minor detail to him. He grunted, dropped his head and looked back at his iPad. I walked off, smiling.

I was watching it with my lads at my friends house in the sunshine (no chance of a ticket for us ex-pat fans) and the joy on my kids face at the end was something to behold. Over the last few years I had genuinely thought I had lost them to the local teams here, but when that equalizer went it yesterday they came back home to the club of their birthright. Very special moment and now I can once more dream of seeing claret and blue ribbons on the greatest cup trophy on earth, despite what Sky and the UEFA try to tell us.
come on Villa!

This is a lovely post-match thread.

Funny deluded scouser commentary of the goals here

Does that link even work? Apologies if not.

Watched the game in the local surrounded by Liverpool supporters. Felt nervous before the game, and when Gerrard stepped up to take that free kick i thought "here we go again", but no we were magnificent. I overheard one liverpool fan say to his mate, "we are gouing to lose this aren't we" his mate said "no, we will beat these, they are rubbish", i knew then the win was ours. When the final whistle went i couldn't help myself and jumped up and punched the air, and turned to look at the Liverpool fans.
Great result, my 2 kids will be in school today telling everyone how great it is to be a Villa fan.

What a lovely morning. Just spoke to a Scouse fan at work who went y-day, he said our fans were superb and deafening.

When they played this on the big screen before kick off yesterday, I'm willing to admit to there being a tear or two in my eye.

A team performance followed that was truly worthy of such great words.

Last night I dreamt I sat in on a conversation between LVG and Ryan Giggs this morning at Carrington. It went like this.

LVG  You.. whatever your name is.

Giggs   Ryan

LVG  Ah yes. Anyway for sure our midfield next season we must have this Cleverley player. Arrange it and offer a big big fee. This Aston Villa club they are sure to accept.

Giggs (splutttering) Er.but he

LVG (getting very angry)  Just do it Higgs or you are to be sacked.

Giggs (sighing)  Yes sir.

Can't talk today. Sore throat, swollen glans, the lot. I'm telling everyone that I've come down with a bout of the dreaded 'Fan Flu'. Still, Mondays don't often feel this euphoric!!
