Best Wembley performance since Leeds in terms of comfort.

Shame we couldn't have put the game to bed earlier with the chances we had.  The last minutes could have been nervier but being a Villa fan you always fear the worst.

I am seeing a lot of rubbish about the Balotelli onside 'goal' - I saw our players (and Shay) stop when the flag went up so if judged onside he may not have scored!

No. Only the winner.

Rules changed last July.

Mario paid the price for being offside 4-5 other times previously in the game. The lino, if in any doubt is gonna automatically lift his flag. If Mario had been a bit sharper today, and not so lazy he might have had more to show for it.

Tonight we are all Steven Gerrard. And Keiron Richardson.

What a nondescript contribution that was from Carpet Head.

Pray for Stevie.

No, the runners-up don't qualify for Europa League this year. We'd have to win the Cup to qualify. Stupid, but that's the state of football these days! Sod it, we're better off without it anyway! Up the Villa!

 Even better Reuban.

Let the sad bar stewards have their excuses, they can all frig off back to Devon/wales wherever they come from, they were beaten by a better team today

Now obviously I would never condone sitting in the wrong end at a football match. But the smug feeling of being bang inline with an onside Mario Balotelli surrounded by thousands of moaning Scousers will take some beating.

Absolute pleasure to watch Grealish today. It was like time was running 30% slower for him.

Shout out for Bacuna too. Still not a full back, but really put the miles in today.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll look back at this season and realise that the darkest hour is the one before dawn.  If we land that elusive Cup at the end of 2014-15, anything is possible.

Brilliant! I was in tears at the final whistle and have lost my voice. The team and the fans were magnificent. So proud
