I missed the roar as well, which is strange as I was very hooked on the game at that point (as you can imagine). I was right up in the Gods so maybe the sound didn't travel that well upwards I don't know.

Sherwood caused it, waving his arms on the touchline trying to get the crowd going

I watched it back on BT (a few times actually) and the roar being referred to was let rip on 89 minutes and 10 seconds.

I remember the 85th minute raw.  it was Sherwood waiving his arms to get the crowd going.

God, I think I love him.

It's brilliant. You hear whilst they are showing a replay and then the camera pans to our end going apeshit.

I wish the cameras were already on us, or on Sherwood waving his arms around, rather than Michael Owen droning on through it.

I counted off each minute from about 83-89. Then that racket started and I was a man possessed.

I was punching my friend in the shoulder and emploring him to get louder. I was screaming at Edvard that this was his chance to help us to a famous win. I picked up the lad who was struggling to see because I couldn't sit down and chucked him on my shoulders. He was going apeshit round my neck. His Dad jumped into our row and was bouncing round like a loony with Ed. The whistle finally went and the bloke in front turned round and slapped a kiss on me. I spotted a bloke from work 2 seats down who I had missed before. The manager and players came down to celebrate. Hi Ho Aston Villa.

And then we left and I got monumentally pissed with some of the H+V crowd and the German contingent....
