Well I'm bringing my kazoo with me next match. I'm going to try and get the themetune from Van der Valk started

I shall accompany you on my trumpet.

However I will be playing much lower than eye level.

I'm bringing my Vuvuzela.  That'll wake the fuckers up round me in the Upper Trinity

I didn't hear it either but that doesn't alter my view that drums and all other musical instruments have no place at football.

More annoying than any drum was hearing a chorus of "fuck the Albion". Why the fuck sing about those twats when we aren't playing them? That's what the Bitters want, us giving them attention.

They play music in one day cricket and rugby internationals. Sports which do this strike me as trying far too hard to grab a little of the immediacy of football - there are so many natural breaks in them that they can't help but strive for the passion football is supposed to have in abundance. There are plenty of crap football matches but we have no need of it in the sport.

As far as I'm concerned, the only Drum allowed with any connection to Birmingham is the one capsizing with Simon Le Bon aboard.

I will make sure my comb and tissue paper are at the ready.
It may not wake anybody up but it will annoy the absolute f**k out of them!

The question was asked a few pages back so I can't quote it but whoever asked when Villa played music after a goal, it was after Villa fan Craig Gardner scored at the North Stand against Arsenal, can't remember exactly when. It was Chelsea Dagger I think.

I remember there being quite a backlash and the General was on here defending it but confirmed it would be shelved.

I second this petition.

That's not atmosphere at Palace, it's rent-a-mob with no interest in the game going through an organised repertoire of crappy clappy-hand songs. It's no different to having speakers in the corner blasting out boy scout campfire songs.

Atmosphere at football grounds is the buzz created by the excitement of the play, or the buzz of anticipation of something about to happen, or the spontaneous singing, chanting or roaring of support for your team.

It's noticeable that at grounds where they have some tosser banging a drum, like Leicester when we were there in January, the rest of the crowd is pretty quiet and reluctant to sing anything for fear of little drummer boy thinking he's popular.

Make sure you never go to a Boca Juniors game, you would hate it.
