Yes, well done, Yorkshire. Even more impressive when you consider the players unavailable having been picked for England.

Ryan Sidebottom's bowling performance at Edgbaston was magnificent, and it was a privilege to be there and witness it.

With Middlesex 92/7 and Notts 73/6 at lunch looking like Yorkshire will clinch the title this afternoon. Evidently plans have been made to present the trophy at Lords which will be rather nice for Andrew Gale after the pathetic decision last season not to allow him to be presented with the trophy.

I don't have that much sympathy towards Gale for what happened last season, he shouldn't have called Ashwell Prince what he did, bang out of order.

About him being a Kolpac player? Prince himself said there was no race element to it and spoke in defence of Gale. It was pathetic preventing him from being presented with the trophy. Anyway, bollocks to them he'll get to lift it soon enough.

From this Guardian article: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/sep/18/andrew-gale-backed-yorkshire-charge-kolpak

“f*** off back to your own country, you Kolpak f*****”.

On a positive note, congratulations to Yorkshire on winning the Championship at a canter.

Yorkshire about to lose, wonder how much celebrating went on after the first day?

Finally got some play at Edgbaston after virtually 2 days of being stuck in the changing room.
Notts 89-3
All 3 wickets to Keith Barker, includingf Alex Hales for 6, no massive score for him against what must be his favourite county.
James Taylor leading a bit of a fight back on 42 but has been dropped twice plus a drop off a no ball as well.

That's a sign of what worries me about Taylor, when he gets decent scores they usually come with a couple of fielding errors, often when he's in the 20s and 30s.  That he punishes those drops is a positive but at test level I just see him getting lots of starts before gifting a catch around that stage. I think it's that transition from getting in to being set that he struggles with, when he's scratching around finding the line, etc he looks ok and once he's in and playing freely he's ok but in betwene he makes too many mistakes for my liking.

Taylor finally trapped by Barker, who has now taken 5 wickets. 307 for 8.

I'd rather bat at 3 if that's OK.

Why Notts and Warwicks not agreed to contrive a result? Notts could've declared, we could've each forfeited an innings and left an exciting run chase on for the spectators.

Boring bastards.

Lees dropped for disciplinary reasons, Root to open and Leaning to bat at four.
