Why is it we always seem as though we play Notts in the first game of the one day competitions in the T20 Alex Hales smashed us into submission
with some massive striking and now today we play them again and this time it's one of their bowlers that takes us apart.
Dan Christian the Aussie is currently 5-25 (7.3) as we have struggled to 154-6 off 34 overs.Only Bell 52 and Woakes 36 have offered any resistance.
Javid 10*
Barker 5* currently at the wkt.

This really is poor from Bears, could be 2 days on the trot that we fail to bat the overs out.

Glenn Maxwell was dropped from the Yorkshire team last night due to a disciplinary breach, one of the things I like about Gillespie is he's not afraid to make such decisions, he did similar with Plunkett earlier in the season despite it handicapping the side on the eve of a county match.

Think Maxwell needed dropping a while ago looking at the results in the crash, bang, wallop.

In the Durham game there was possibly the worst piece of fielding I've ever seen which resulted in a run out but the wrong man.

Why are Trott and Hain not playing? The Bears need some stability. Got to be better than Webb or Lewis surely?

Trott was in the squad along with Rankin, your guess is as good as mine.
Meanwhile at Wellbeck the carnage goes on 126-0 16.1 overs make that 130 off 16.2.
Hales his hit 5 or 6 sixes on 80 and Wessels on 46.

Mayhem ensues....Gordon 1 over for 18

Hales another 6 off Poysden onto 86 and another 4 sixes in the over 144-0 17 overs. Poysden gone for 42 off 3
Patel brings himself on now when the damage is done.

Ridiculously poor performance
Notts win with 21.5 overs to spare
Wessels ended up on 86* and Taylor 24
We didn't hit a single 6 they hit 11, Hales 9 of them.
Probably rained off tomorrow at Lords gives us a great start to the competition

That was an  unmitigated disaster, and may well define our season. I compared it to Villa's thrashing at Southampton to a long suffering fellow member.

I can't say it was not on the cards, though.

Yorkshire 227 v 5 Gloucestershire.

Resounding victory. I think.
