Good win for the Bears over the Pears , they deserve a lot of praise for this win. In a  match where the Pears were allowed to include their best player (Moen Ali ) and the Bears denied the chance to play Ian Bell ,to be put in to bat in ideal seaming conditions on the first morning and then to lose the top scorer from the first innings Sam Hain for the second innings and to still win by 181 is remarkable COYB

Considering they run ball-by-ball commentaries, the beeb can be some way behind when updating their scorecards. It is at times like watching football on Ceefax. I find Cricinfo to be more up to date and use it an awful lot. Plus there's a pile of cricket stats buried in their database too.

I find Cricinfo far quicker than the BBC and it is also far more useful for stats. Listening to the BBC online i feel pretty certain the likes of Phil Britt and Dave Bradley use Cricinfo

Bookmakers' websites are often best for being up-to-date. They have to be as they can't afford to lose money otherwise.

Anyhow... YOOOOOUUUUUU BEEEEEEAAAARRRRSSSS!!!

A quite entertaining match, with some good cricket played.

The ball was doing quite a bit in the first two days and our relatively low score was probably pretty good in the circumstances. I believe if Worcs had another swing bowler then our score would have been somewhat lower, but they had to bring on spinners at both ends to give their 3 seamers a rest.  By the second innings having only had 42 overs to recuperate, their pace men were understandably tired.

Wright and Barker are pretty effective in favourable conditions and made the most of it. Rankin and Clarke provided good backup and Patel seems to be able to get wickets whether it is turning or not. He has a faster ball which he used quite a lot. In the field, we are formidable, and Rikki Clarke  is the best slip fielder in the game in my opinion.

I would say that Worcs are a stronger side than the one which returned to the First Division last time, and they should survive with a bit of luck.

In order to play Ali,Worcs had to leave a seamer out,as they are hardly likely to leave  Senanayake out. That proved to be the difference in my opinion.

I doubt it. Worcester are rubbish anyway.

It appears that Hales is in the mood.

Seeing the text earlier and some Durham player hit the first 6 in this season's 20/20. In the 11th over of their game. Therein lies the huge problem in our performances in the slap bang version of the game. Birmingham Bears were only 4 down after 14 overs, but scored 91. Those types of scores are never going to be competitive and the lack of chances taken and clean hitting seen, shows why we even struggle in the most horrible version of the game. that Hales has come in and won the game without a quarter of the overs to go shows where we as a country are going wrong.

We have Hales, Pietersen, Morgan, Buttler, maybe Roy/Vince as players who can take the game to bowlers in thsi version but you knw we're looking still at the nurdlers and the odd 4 an over and 4 singles types of players.
