Loved that game. Was next to the barrier with the Arse fans to my right. We went fecking bananas with the second equaliser and gave the home fans hell. Thanks Dwight.

It was Yorke twice

But bergkamp was definitely the better player. One of the best ever in the league

Yam yam beer to be kept west of the M5.

I'm undercover over here though, so I'm going to tell you where to find this shit. Wollaston, near Stourbridge, at The Unicorn and The Royal Exchange.

Proper pubs over here, ay it?

Who was better in their pomp, Bergkamp or Yorkie ?
Yorke all day long for me .

Much as I'd love to agree with you, Bergkamp by some considerable distance for me

No disrespect to our own but Bergkamp was truly world class. Yorke just about international level.

Yorke had 3 or 4 years where he would have walked into nearly any side in the world. Bergkamp had a career where he would have walked into any side in the world, that is the difference.

Its hard to admit (for me anyway) but Yorke was absolute quality in the year Red scum won the European cup - something I don't think Berkamp achieved; Yorke playing the lone striker role away from home. He may not have done it in the final but he certainly performed in the other rounds.

I don't think many would have Yorke at his peak, over Bergkamp at his peak.

And there are plenty of players who have won the European Cup/Champions League that aren't fit to lace Bergkamp's boots.

96-99 Yorke was probably as good.

Either side Bergksmp for sure and by a distance.

Bergkamp was one of the half a dozen best players to play in the premier league.

Yorke was great for us, but nowhere near as good.

I loved Yorkie, but Bergkamp is probably my favourite ever Premiership player. On his game he was a joy to watch, and considering that meant watching Arsenal, that's quite something. Very few players could score goals like the one he scored against Leicester (he also scored a similar one playing for Holland against Argentina) and that goal against Newcastle. Astonishing first touch.

Arsenal fans don't know how lucky they are.

Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira - I'd put them all in the top ten premier league era players.

Just looking back at some of their players too, they had an awesome back line in the late 90's. Then in 02-04, the likes of Pires as well.
I also think Henry and Bergkamp is probably the best front two the Prem has ever had. Plenty of goals but both players were also technically exceptional to boot, and Henry of course had pace to burn back in the day.

They should have won the European cup and that will end up being a blot on Wengers CV to be honest. I think Arsene has had sides as good as, if not better than Utd's 99 treble winners.

There weren't too many players around as technically gifted as Bergkamp. Zidane would be one such example of someone as exceptional at manipulating a football, and he of course won everything.

I honestly don't see a player in this league as impressive at the moment. The players of that class level are mostly playing in Spain.
