BBC Home Page - Sports heading - Arsenal avoid Liverpool in FA Cup Draw.
Oh I'd love to see a Bradford Villa final. It would be amazingly sweet to see both Liverpool and Arsenal fall in the Semi's when each will feel they've virtually got a free pass to the final.

It would be awesome.

One thing this week has done is reinforce my belief that the BBC sports department is the most incompetent of any major broadcaster.  They must kiss the paycheck every week knowing they are truly blessed working for a nice cushy gig from which you can never be fired no matter how bad a job you do.

Another home draw! Can't ask for more than that. Genuinely happy about this, things can change in a week never mind in a month but we're in a semi-final. of the Fa Cup. Our neighbours are shitting it. Bring it on. Its what Aston Villa do.

Someone reassure me that is will be the Sat. Its my daughters christening on the Sunday
I think it just comes down to who picks which match. The BBC will pick first and (I think) get the Saturday slot. BT will pick second and have the Sunday.

My concern for your situation is that the BBC might take a confirmed Arsenal over a probable Liverpool for the Saturday game.

Read elsewhere that apparently that weekend SHA and WBA are playing in London on the Saturday? If that's the case it's pretty nailed on we're the Sunday game.

Can you imagine? "Oh fancy seeing you lot down here.  Where are you off to today?  We're off to Wembley!".

Since when have Watford and Palace home games had any bearing on what's happening at Wembley?
I suspect it will be 100% in the hands of the Beeb and BT who plays when, with the only possible outside interference being if Arsenal get through to the next round of the Champions League (unlikely) and being fixtured on Tuesday 21st.

There is a chance that they'll overcome the 1-3 home defeat against Monaco but it's somewhere between zero and none. I don't think there's much to worry about with Arsenal's European commitments in April.

Depends if they decide the dates before the 2nd legs.

That lot will pay more attention to our score on their phones and devices then any match they attend.

Honestly quite happy to miss Bradford/Reading, clubs like that can be a real handful on those occasions, and we all know what complacency can do, Motivation will not be a problem against Liverpool, assuming they beat Blackburn.

Did anyone else think the draw was debased by having a 'personality' involved?. Frankly I wanted them to get on with it not listen to a full of himself talent show announcer warbling on about his charity work, worthy as it is. Also with the camera angle you could see what ball was being picked out which was wrong.

There is so much the FA could do to enhance the cup. The draw should always be made from Wembley stadium, the fucking one show? Seriously. Wembley stadium, an executive box kitted out with old Cup memorabilia in front a window facing the pitch. Some of the games greats involved not Dermot O'dimwit or some plank on the one show. Maybe a 15/20 minute build up with a great match from the same round in the 70's/80's etc etc. Majority 3.00pm kick offs on a Saturday afternoon with 2 matches picked for Sunday. Champions League qualification for the winners.

I love the Fa Cup, always have done but it ain't half took a kicking these last 15 years. MONEY MONEY MONEY over glory. You wouldn't believe how many times I had the same conversation this weekend with people who would rather finish 17th and be a passenger in the sky rich get richer league than win a trophy.
