Damon's name has cropped up and before I turn my back on this thread I should clarify that the son to whom I referred was not Damon.
Never noticed you went on the pitch Brian, what a night, I reminded my Dad he went on against Tranmere but he can't recall it.

It was only the cup. It's not important.

To be fair if Lawrenson and Pearce weren't a pair of fannies it'd be about 30-35 pages.

It was in every way a momentous game.   When it was over my younger son turned to me and said.  "Let's go on the pitch.   Thirty years I have been coming here and I have never been on the pitch".   I considered his position as a husband, a father, a multi millionaire television producer, a chairman of a board of school governors, a Labour councillor and an applicant for £10million of Department of Education money to save his local primary school and replied "okay".   It was that kind of day.  The only blemish on this piece of family history was that while he hurdled the perimeter wall, I fell arse over tip and had to be helped to my feet by some of the multitude of "hooligans".
Football thugs today? Pah, sounds like you should be watching that proper gentlemans game Ruga.
I dunno what's the world coming too?

Brian, you sound like my father in 75, last game at home against Sunderland. I had to drag him over the small fence to celebrate our promotion and despite his enjoyment, I still felt whilst carrying a square foot of turf, he felt it was wrong.

Last night we spoken 2000 miles apart and it was the first thing he mentioned. There's been a lot of built up tension which I'm sure you're well aware of. It never used to be this way but I see it more as a cleansing. Now we can move on and really celebrate the true essence of what it is to be a Villa supporter.

The youngsters may not know any different, it's not their fault, maybe it's ours for giving them so much hope. Saying that, and there's plenty of time to discuss the sex of the angels but bloody hell, how did we allow it to get so bad? Right now, we're back with the rare ingredient that I've seen so many are jealous of, Man City and their billions included, raw passion.

Fuck the BBC and all their sterilised wankers, we know what we are and we're bloody proud of it.

I am not usually a fan of MOMS but that is really good. Very well written indeed.

He has seriously worked through all of it very systematically, and the club could do worse than use use most of this in their defence!

A great read

Someone commenting on that article has posted up brief Instagram footage, which shows two Albion players clearly going out of their way to have a physical go (albeit in a snidey sort of way) at fans who were clearly not intent on confrontation.

Watch the Albion player on the left. Can't work out who it is. I know another trips someone up but the bloke on the left is very confrontational.

McManaman looks like he's disappointed he can't get into a proper scrap with anyone.

Yes, saw that. It will be interesting to see if it goes any further re: disciplinary measures.
