I bet bluenose Gardener was pissed off last night and never went out the house. What a awful week it has been for him getting beat by the Villa twice and to top it off being replaced.

A selection of comments from the bitters forum made me chuckle

We can get relegated for all I care now, they have let us down massively. A massive part of my love for the Albion has died today, will take a lot to get it back

The consequences of the last five days are potentially devastating. I'm 40 years old and can't remember feeling as low as this ever and that includes the Derby play-off final defeat and various relegations. Going into this week Villa were on the ropes, staring relegation in the face. We had the opportunity to put them away twice. This is a very poor Villa side. And yet we bottled it twice.

Cons: we were absolutely f*cking appalling. Gutless.
Pros: made £2 from having them bounced off my head by those scum.

Another pathetic performance by a bunch of over paid t***s f*****g gutted won't win football playing that garbage just hope these defeats don't send us on a run of bad results. Brown is shit that's official

I wasnt entirely convinced by the appointment of Sherwood, Im still not, but that was some half time team talk. We were abysmal first half and there for the taking, second half there was only one winner. Some magnificent performances and it would have been nice to have applauded the players effort and celebrated with them. Ive been on the pitch plenty of times when i was young and stupid though.

Fantastic atmosphere in the ground, Trinity was rocking.

Firstly, you had to be there to know three things - first the incredibly hyper atmosphere which had been pumped up - I have been to a few games at VP and the mixture of Lambert going, cliff hanging relegation and long suppressed performance frustration was more explosive than I have seen for many years. Secondly I think the stewarding was not adequate or properly deployed. At 90 minutes it was clear where the dam was going to burst but none of the stewards from the less volatile parts of the perimeter was deployed to the problem area and thirdly the TV decision to play the game at 5.30 at a time when the idiot faction had been getting tanked up all day was utter money driven madness. We in the vast majority voiced our opinion of the pitch invasion by chanting and booing the invasion. The media have very selective memories and no mention will be made of numerous pitch invasions by Manchester United fans at Villa Park. The whole episode is grist to the mill of the bourgeois football haters who take their opinions and outrage against life in general from places like the Daily Mail.
I was proud to be a Villa fan yesterday and no administrative error by the club or greed of the broadcasters or pissed up kids is going to change that.
God Points. The media have been ramping up the excitement especially since Tuesday. I thinks the rivalry has been massively underestimated particularly in such important fixtures.

I remember thinking at Anderlecht we could get kicked out because of this. I thought yesterday the FA could take action against us apart from the expected big fine. Today I still think they might do something' but what I don't know.

Anderlect was different as they wanted the result annuled by claiming that they had been in a goal scoring position when the fans came on the pitch, which was then judged not to have been the case.

Matt Lowton is the new Ricky Scimeca. Expected to play anywhere any time and slagged off if he makes mistakes. One mistake apart I thought he played his part in a well earned victory.

I like Lowton and even under Lambert I thought he was key to how we tried to play. He tries to get forward and has a decent cross. yes, he can be up and down defensively but does more good than bad. In the first half he was caught out a few times but was pulled out of position often first-half as the Albion looked to play balls down his channel and get behind him. But I like Lowton and would rather have him in the team than out.

Brilliant second half and what a brilliant atmosphere. Shame about the idiots going on the pitch but apart from that what a great day.

I don't get at all how the pundits in all their wisdom, and that moaning cock Pulis, cannot see that Yacob has left one on Bacuna and got that decision spot on.

Yes, I would be far more critical of Bacuna who seemed to have inherited the awful passing mantle from Sanchez at the Arsenal match. His delivery was truly shocking all match. He can defend ok but is dreadful going forward in terms of his distribution

Wow, the meeja are baying for blood. I don't think the atmosphere was anything like how that report is describing it. Not where I was sat anyway.

great second half, but I'm getting annoyed at all this lambasting of our own fans.

The fans who invaded the pitch early, obviously thought the whistle had gone, there has been so much overreaction to this. It was harmless and only held the game up for less than a minute.

After that the full pitch invasion at the end is nothing different from what we see every year at various clubs.

I certainly thought it was much more of a possible red card than everyone else who appeared to dismiss it out of hand. He was two-footed, both feet off the ground

It wasn't was it? You would have thought it was a re-run of the infamous Blues match the way the likes of the Mail is carrying on. Thought it was a brilliant atmosphere, not poisonous.
The media will move on very quickly I think but we will get a hefty fine no doubt.
