We'll  beat the barcodes, Southampton beat the boggies,  we'll then beat the boggies on Tuesday and sit one point above them at 21.45 simples.

hard drugs or legal highs  ?
Nice one, john. Made me laugh out loud at your response.

Sherwood has had the U21's training beside the first team and he's been keeping a close eye. Any left backs that might catch his eye?

If Baker is back we can always shift Clark to LB.

Lewis Kinsella was mentioned in the Evening Mail earlier in the week.  Would be a big ask to call a youngster in given our current situation.

Get the impression Grealish is going to play

It wouldn't be a complete shock and maybe just the platform the kid needs to flourish. A bit of trust and the licence to have a go. Having Grealish, Gil and Sinclair playing off Benteke is far more appealing than the thought of Gabby and even Weimann right now.

I'd agree on that IF we have a strong back line supporting the midfield .
If Hutton and cissoko are out I would be concerned .
Not that we have a vast amount of options .

If he's going to stay with the same formation then it wouldn't surprise me either, as I think he'll bring someone else in on the right hand side to help out defensively.  Gil got caught forward on a couple of occasions last week and left Hutton exposed.

Our midfield is powder puff, the one big lad we have (Sanchez) is far too slow to play PL football.

I'd rather play Baker at left back than Clark. He's worse on the ball, but Clark is the better centre back and, if there's going to be a fuck-up from someone misplacing a pass or overcommitting at the back, I'd rather it were out wide than in the middle.

We just need to stay tight and disciplined and let them make the mistakes.

If we had 10 more points I reckon we'd smash em tomorrow.

But everything is on such a knife edge now - I had to go out for a long walk after Vlaar's balls-up last week, actually feeling almost sick!

I don't want this tomorrow. Preferably 3-0 up with a couple of their players getting sent off would do just fine.

Not just Carver whose being melodramatic

THE MAG

The atmosphere on Saturday needs to be at its venomous best from minute one. If anyone needs encouraging, cast your mind back to May 2009 when their loyal fan base for no reason mocked us, there were too many chants and banners for it NOT to be orchestrated.

To this day I have no idea why they did that, a team who have more empty seats than Sunderland chose to mock our relegation.

The 6-0 game only partially quenched my thirst for revenge, so let us for once forget our own in-house bickering, get behind the team from the start and let Villa and their spiteful fans know exactly where they are.
