I'd go for:
                          Guzan
Hutton            Ron       Clarke           Ally

Gill         Sanchez           Delph         Gabby

                  Benteke       Wiemann

Who are Clarke, Gill and wiemann?
They are Ally's brothers.
The Pedantic Police are on patrol! Give or take a few letters here and there that was not a bad effort after supping my Homebrew APA.

It still looks a good team, spelling aside.

I'd rather Sinclair on the left than Gabby. Gabby has no clue about tracking back to defend - at least Sinclair is more used to to doing that..

If they've got all these players out we are going to thrash them.

How does a manager come up with his side for the first match? Surely working with players for one week doesn't really show how good/bad everyone is and their good/bad points. Must be a tough thing to do. Does he ask the other coaches? Does he have a look through the team put out in previous weeks?

I think he'll go with the team that started last weeks match. He saw the improvement in the second half, so will want to see if the players can recreate that.

Can players really show you how good they are in one week of training to get themselves a starting place? I'd say it'd go more on the match he saw last week and bits and pieces he's seen of Villa over the years.

On route now. This optimism is freaking me out. It's lovely.

It's my mums 60th tomorrow. Her family are all noses. Family party after this evening.

Yes we're gonna win!

Remember, he's watched us a few times this season live, and if it's true that he was being lined up, he's had plenty of time for researching most of the other games too.

For some reason I have the feeling that today could go big. We need to improve that goals tally.

3-1 win (we've got to score more than 2 goals in one game at some point)
Benteke first goal scorer

Guzan
Hutton-vlaar-Clark-Aly
Sanchez-Delph
Bacuna-Gill-Gabby
Benteke

Over 81% of us predict a Villa win. That must be unprecedented for a league game.

The new-manager bounce or dead cat bounce.
Many people on here have agreed this season that the player-squad is good enough to stay up; the issue was about coaching and management. We'll see later how far that is indeed the case.

I think you've nailed the team, Vinny. I hope you're right on the result too.
After a week of nervousness I'm feeling very confident about today. As Mr E rightly points out, we have very decent team that should be no where near the relegation spots.

Win the midfield in the early stages and I think we can batter them.
