Biggest challenge today may be managing fan expectations . This is going to be very tough I reckon.

I'd go for:
                          Guzan
Hutton            Ron       Clarke           Ally

Gill         Sanchez           Delph         Gabby

                  Benteke       Wiemann

Who are Clarke, Gill and wiemann?
They are Ally's brothers.

I don't think it'll be a stroll but at least there's optimism. Under Lambert, we'd have this down for a defeat.

What are the odds on a Delph red card?
Who's ref ?

Roger East according to this. 9 games this season so far, 36 yellow cards, no red. Yet. And strangely enough one of the linesmen's name is West.

Agree. I will stand by my prediction of a scruffy, nervy 1-0 win, Sinclair .

Couldn't make it up really!  Not sure why the PL use so many different refs, maybe because so many have been involved in scandals?!

I am nervous about today. Firstly because it is squeaky bum time of the season and secondly because Sherwood's early results will dictate the rest of the season in my opinion.

The North Stand should be full.

Massive game - win, and we get the wind in our sails for the rest of the season; losing doesn't bear contemplating.
My main concern is that the team go all out to win and get caught by a more settled and counter-attacking Stoke. Last season, their counter-attacking approach was one of the best of its type that I've seen (although the Spammers also mugged us well last season, too).
I hope that TS gets some balance in the team and the way we play.

2-1.

Woke up with mixture of nerves and excitement,  going with my two sons and grandson, my youngest getting train from Liverpool to watch match and get on train back to start 10 pm shift, amazing how different it feels now Lambert has gone, just win Villa just win.

Go the same, nerves mixed with excitement.

They have injuries whereas we have a clean slate for everyone and a manager pledged to attack. Nil nil it is then.

A win would point us in the right direction.

I'm away for the weekend but for the first time in about 5 years I wish I could go down today.
