Nothing amuses me more than small clubs like Albion talking about our attendances. The last time they averaged over 30K was before our last home FA Cup QF.
Maybe not but who the fuck are they to suggest we cant!!
It'll be less easy for Brigada to move to a block booking for this game I imagine, but those stand up moments across the lower holte weren't particularly sustained in the way that away standing is (20-30 seconds?) - still, if you did find that impaired your enjoyment that is your view & it is what it is. I must admit tho, I (strangely now I read back) thought that you were talking about singing rather than standing. It read straight off to me a bit like you objected to the singing rather than the impaired view & my post was an off the cuff reaction to that rather than particularly meant as pro-standing.That said - standing for the entire second half was pretty routine in The Holte until fairly recently (it's only since it got sooo dull that this has stopped) & certainly standing is pretty commonplace for derby matches in my experience, when the atmosphere can really take off.I'm honestly saying this to be helpful rather than objectionable, but if you don't want to stand during this game, you may prefer to locate in another stand. I know that sounds all wrong in print, but I just think that even 'the regulars' will be out of their seats for this match whether they are exhorted to 'stand up if you love Villa' or not - so you may simply enjoy the match more from a stand where this won't happen. I completely appreciate that a 'why should I move?' response is justified - its just that the reality is that if you really don't want to be amongst people who stand up, for an important derby game, The Holte might not provide the best place for you to enjoy the game from. I think standing for this game is likely to be at a level beyond what stewards will be able to tackle. (I should also stay that I am pro-safe standing so that people have a choice, not so that everyone should have to stand - in the meantime we are stuck with those who want to sit being stuck behind those who are out of their seats at every opportunity - it doesn'the really help anyone)
Liam, will the Baggies fans be arriving by their usual form of transport to Villa Park?
