Sky News just said "Tim Sherwood Aston Villa Manager is 1 game away from Wembley after his side defeated Leicester". Mr Lambert must be kicking the cat!

He'd miss...

Yes, but then he would go again.

Hot balls

Rod Stewart B-side that didn't get quite so much radio play as Hot Legs.

One game from Wembley-

Whoever it is, home or away there will be a huge noisy villa crowd there.

We've got to believe.

I'm looking into flights....

We owe Liverpool a couple.  Remember one at VP mid late 80s when they took a free kick way too quickly to score and then a few years later at Anfield when some hit me with a pie,  mind you I was in thier end.

Was that the midweek game when Andy Comyn made his debut?

Or was it the FA cup game?
The FA  Qf c91 or 92 We had the whole of the Anfield Road end but got a ticket in the main stand near the Kop and stood up and sang 'Villaaa'.  Hence pie.

Prefer to avoid the stripy filth or any of Arse/'The Mighty Reds YNWA'/ManUre, so payback against Bradford or Sherwood to face Blackburn as Villa manager will do for me. Hopefully a couple of all PL team ties will knock out one of the favourites.

In my ideal world, Liverpool in the quarters, Bradford in the semis, Albion in the final and Villa on the Council House balcony with the Cup after an open top bus ride that starts just on the other side of Coventry, through the centre*, up the A45 past the sty and looping round the city centre to Sandwell before travelling back to the city via Aston. And while we're at it, when we secure Premiership survival, take an open top bus ride through Newcastle just to piss off those bitter Jardies.

*I realise this is a near impossibility because of the ring road and one-way system but where there's a will...

I hope you were, like my good self, were wearing our special edition yellow away shirt at Anfield that day. Possibly the only time the team ever wore it I think. I remember us in traffic near the ground in my mates Escort cabriolet with the roof down and repeatedly playing Tempole Tudor's Sword Of A Thousand Men at full blast. I think that might have been the only away game in five years where I got to play my compilation cassette in the car. We must have had DJ Nev bound and gagged in the boot.

Although my original 'what game' question was about the free kick and not the pie!  ;D

That's ideal JD but failing that just a home draw. I think it'll be Arsenal away and I think we'd beat them.

If we get Arse/Liverpool we'd be better away than at home, wouldn't we? Arguably the same if it's Man U.

Anyway. I'm not too bothered about whether we're drawn home or away. Just a non-Premier League team please.
