Looking back I think we should have stuck with him.  I just do not understand the logic of football clubs handing out multi-year contracts to managers / coaches. After all how many of the managers actually survive that long?  If the clubs offered them a fixed term contract surely that would be more sensible (for instance to the end of the season or if part way through a season to the end of the folllowing season.  You may say that clubs would miss out, but if it was a group decision by all the owners then managers would have 2 choices take it or leave it.

I see the secial one has a 3 year deal at the theatre of wet dreams - will he last that long, I doubt it.

Actually, if we're using hindsight, then yes we should still have sacked Sherwood - we should just have appointed someone other than Remi Garde.

I think we would have ended up on more points than we did if we'd kept Sherwood. How many more though, I don't know.

Not quite sure what the logic is there. 9 defeats in 10, players breathing through their arses after 70 minutes and his one tactic well and truly sussed. We were more likely to finish the season with one win and single digit points.

I don't think anyone would have saved us tbh, especially with zero outlay in January.

Precisely. Without Benteke and Delph he was just as shit as Garde with more blame as he had the summer to prep them. Whatever the f**k he did.

Once he hung the players out to dry post match at Leicester, when it was his fault entirely, he was cooked.

i think last summer  was a case of wrong place at the wrong time for Tim at the Villa
what if tony xia was chairman then , no paddy reilly , no  moneyball ,
but plenty of money for tim to bring in the likes of andros townsend and adebayor  for starters

Yes, if only we could have had Adebayor instead of him going to Palace. The 1 goal he's managed since January would have made a world of difference.

He would have made a massive difference to our wage bill like he did at Palace.

Utterly irrelevant. We're talking about this season, the form and condition he is in now. With the supply line (or lack of) he would have had here, not at Tottenham.

Also, just to reiterate, for the millionth time, there was no 'moneyball'.

That is nonsense IMHO. Adebayor is a total fraud
