Its difficult to argue that it would have got any worse, which is pitiful when you consider that we'd lost 7 on the bounce.

When we recruited him it should have been a short term contract till the end of the 2014-15 season, with a £1m bonus to keep us up. We should then have used that time to scout a good long term manager.

The first 11-12 games of last season showed he want going to turn tihngs around.

It's hard to imagine how he would have ended up doing worse than Garde.  I'd have fancied him to pick up the odd extra win here and there.

Also, we'd have saved whatever we spent on hiring and firing Garde.

No chance, the shocking preperation he did over the summer is the main reason we were relegated.

Have to agree. Plus by the time he was sacked the time had no shape and seemingly no purpose. He had to go.

I would say yes, as we weren't routinely hammered under Sherwood, and we'd have saved a few million quid in compensation. We'd also have kept a bit of credibility for not going through 3 managers in a season. I would agree that he was an awful appointment though.
