I was the first to call it. I remember watching him playing against us for Blackburn, 1995 I reckon, and I said, no word of lie, honest,  he'll be our manager one day but will be sacked in the last week of October. A truer story you will never read. Honest.

I called it back in '87 when he was playing for Watford. I said then he was a tosser and that he'd be prick if he ever got the Villa job, and that it would be short lived. Even I'm shocked at how short lived. But I called it. Proper ITK.

Who was the visionary on here who said he would last until November?

There were a few of us that said in deep shit by October or November.

I take no pleasure in being right. Typical that my one prediction in a decade I get right is that he'd keep up and be gone before the of October.

This is getting like the people who say they saw The Pistols at Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall in 1976...

Back in 1968, and I remember it well even though I was a mere toddler, I was taken to Hertfordshire to visit relatives. While we were there I caught sight of a pregnant woman and I remember thinking to myself "I'm certain her baby will become a footballer, play for England and win the Premier League even though nobody will know what it is for another 24 years, then manage the Villa to an FA Cup final before his sacking is celebrated on something that will be called the internet."

I stopped believing when you reckoned you were only a toddler in 1968.

I went back in time. Hertfordshire 1968 as it happens. Pulled this lass, and we did the dirty as you do. As I 'arrived' I said "he'll be sacked late October". I felt guilty afterwards so hung around a few months. We were out walking one day and I noticed this TEENAGER staring at us. Reason I noticed it was he was on the pavement trying to sell something to anyone that went past. Freaked me out so later that day I returned to the present time.

True story.

Interesting how all this has worked out. I borrowed a hot tub from a mate of mine and it took me back to 1946. The war had just ended and everyone was, you know' "getting their groove on". Well as it happened I bumped into a bloke who'd just met up with a lovely lass. He told me his first grandson would become a footballer, play for England and win the Premier League even though nobody will know what it is for another 46 years, then manage the Villa to an FA Cup final before his sacking is celebrated on something that will be called "the internet.".
