Or,conversely, if we get a new manager and still go down, he'll say Tim Sherwood would have kept us up

That's even funnier.

We've had some clueless clowns over the past 10 years but no manager will suffer more then Sherwood the tiredness of the Villa faithful more than him. Not that he doesn't deserve.. but fuck it, neither do we. Lerner has one last shake of the dice, make sure it's a good one.

Three points tomorrow and a top class replacement, please. Like others, I'm really getting bored.

Less than an hour ago you were making out virtually none of our players could get into Watford's side as our squad is so poor, now we only need 3 players to potentially make a challenge for 10th? Our squad as it stands can't be that bad then can it if it only needs a bit of tweaking to be safe and looking at 10th?
Wow that's not at all what I said . I'm not that au fait with Watford squad (that was simply used as an example pick another of your choice).
We are shite . If you can't see that , take the C&B specs out

And I did pick 3, not one, Sunderland, Watford and Bournemouth. I only chose 3 as that's all we need to be better than to stay up.

I've never said we aren't currently shit either. However I have said that Sherwood and the training is the reason we look so shit. And we'd be a lot less shit with a better manager and training. So what C&B glasses am I wearing?

It's a concern.
We had to beg Sherwood allegedly. How worrying is that

there's never been a better time for someone to come in ; the football universe has written us off as a basket case, so even if we go down, nobody will see it as pejorative on the new guy's CV. We pay top dollar for manager's ( usually bad ones) so I'm pretty sure there would still be a number of people to choose from, eager to try and crack the Villa conundrum once  and for all.

Fucking hell Silhill you do talk some shit sometimes mate.  Sherwood himself said that he accepted the job first and THEN negotiated the contract as he was so pleased at being offered such a fantastic, big football club to work for. Go back and find the videos and you will see for yourself. Whilst Randy, in hindsight, has, as it turned out, appointment complete dross, I am positive that he has never had to beg someone to take the job. In fact, if he had have done so, we might actually be sitting here with a far better Manager. I hope to God the next one has to be begged and prized away from a current role because he's so good at what he does.

A victory over swansea will give Sherwood a stay of execution.  However,  if he gets the team gelling, he might be around a little longer.

if you are referring to Houllier, then you are correct. He had concerns about his health and being too old, all of which proved to be correct. I think he had an easy  and cushy role at the French FA which he was reluctant to give up. he should have stayed in Paris

A different spin on Sherwood, here

Quote
Tim Sherwood is scrapping to save his job at Aston Villa and increased the uncertainty surrounding his future by refusing to rule out resigning.  Sherwood faces a crucial game against Swansea with his position under growing scrutiny and he is undoubtedly battling to avoid being dismissed after a stormy eight months in charge.  The Villa manager has insisted that Saturday’s game is just as significant as last season’s FA Cup Final and knows that an eighth defeat in ten Premier League games could have severe ramifications.
Sherwood was making all the right noises at Bodymoor Heath on Friday, despite the silence from the Villa board regarding his position, and remains convinced he can mastermind a climb away from the bottom three.  Sherwood knows how crucial Saturday's match against Swansea is But ahead of this weekend’s potentially pivotal game he has muddied the waters further by hinting at the friction behind the scenes.
Villa have signed 13 new players this summer, many of which were recommended by director of recruitment Paddy Reilly and sporting director Hendrik Almstadt, in a policy that has frustrated the 46-year-old.
And when asked if he would ever consider walking away from the job, Sherwood said: “Yeah. I would always say that. Whenever I'm not happy with the situation, and I'm not happy in my job of work, then I would [walk away], 100%. Not now – and if I can take what I've taken over the last few months and still be happy, that tells you a lot.
“I've taken the brunt of this football club over the last few months, everything that everyone wants to throw at it – negatives – it's been on my head. And that's my job as a manager to take that responsibility.
“I'm not in the background, am I? I'm the manager, I get paid to stand at the front and take it on the chin and that's what I'm doing.”
Sherwood also revealed that he has not spoken to chairman Randy Lerner or chief executive Tom Fox this week, with Villa reluctant to issue a public vote of confidence.
Last season Villa sacked Paul Lambert three weeks after Fox insisted blaming the manager was a “false narrative”, but there is deep concern over Villa’s start to the season.
“I am telling the players it’s a must-win because I think we need to win a game sooner or later,” said Sherwood. “Forget Wembley last season, this is a cup final.
“It’s a massive game, not only for me but for the players as well. They all want to be Premier League footballers and this club needs to be in the Premier League.”
Villa’s problems only increased this week when former striker Stan Collymore said the board were “not fit for purpose” and demanded Lerner to sell up, after his column in the club’s match-day programme was dropped.
But Telegraph Sport understands a sale is unlikely this season after Lerner dramatically pulled out of negotiations in July. A Chinese consortium agreed an exclusivity period but Lerner had reservations and scrapped the deal, effectively taking the club off the market while the transfer window was open.
Despite the sales of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph, which totalled just over £40million, Villa only spent £7million net and many of the new additions have no Premier League experience.
Sherwood is not blameless, with his team selection and substitutions bewildering supporters while a failure to beat the likes of Sunderland, West Brom, Leicester and Stoke was always going to set off alarm bells. However, he has not been helped by the lack of football experience or leadership at the top. Fox impressed as Arsenal’s chief commercial officer, agreeing the £170million kit deal with Puma in 2013, but his area of expertise was not on-field matters.
Fox raided his old club for Almstad, which appeared to go against Sherwood’s wishes, and there has been no explanation over the club’s bold transfer policy.
In the three paragraphs of quotes that accompanied the announcement of Almstadt’s arrival, he said he was looking forward to “establishing a close relationship with Tim Sherwood’. The pair are understood to be barely on speaking terms now.
And then there is Reilly. It is well known that he was an analyst during Martin O’Neill’s time in charge but since returning from Liverpool he has become an integral part of the decision making.
Yet it is Sherwood under all the scrutiny and he will head into the Swansea game with his job very much on the line.

''and if I can take what I've taken over the last few months and still be happy, that tells you a lot''

What has he taken over the last few months? Criticism for terrible results? That's a given, that's the job he is in, or is he referring to something behind the scenes?

I get the feeling from Dim Tim that as much as he protests that he's happy etc he's feeling very sorry for himself and doesn't think Tim Sherwood deserves to be in the mess that Tim Sherwood finds himself in. Otherwise why would he keep mentioning not feeling sorry for himself? No ones asked him that question.

I agree with that. It's a bit of a strange thing to say. I don't think there are many fans particularly concerned with whether he's feeling sorry for himself or not.
