So the table does lie then, but not when it comes to the Villa. And if it doesn't lie about us and we have the 19th worst squad in the league then there's no point sacking Sherwood as no one can do any better with them. So we may as well carry on with him and save the compensation hadn't we.

Silhill, can you confirm that because Leicester are higher in the league than Chelsea, that you believe Leicester have a better squad than Chelsea because the table doesn't lie?
PWS, clearly there are certain glitches in the table.
My fear is we are about in the correct position based on the players we have. We may flex that by a couple of places either way but no more IMHO. This is no defence of sherwood btw.

You have disproved your own comment there mate

We've seriously underspent and impoverished the squad this last 24-36 months. Sherwood pulled off a minor miracle last season. We are looking at a similar if not more difficult challenge this year.
PWS , where do you think our squads realistic league position is based on the current personnel ?

I've said this before, 11-14th.

But you said you don't think we have a squad that is good enough to stay up, so if that's the case why change manager and waste more money as no one can keep us up as the players aren't good enough regardless of the manager?

We have a January window . My fear is looking at fixtures this side of Xmas we are really in a tough position. Already. We don't have Benteke to magic us points this time. If we can somehow keep in touch then January offers hope in terms of 2 or 3 quality players coming in.

If our squad is worse than Watford, Bournemouth, Sunderland etc it will take more than 2 or 3 signings to stay up.

I saw a paper saying that yesterday, but the fact is we have some decent players there, yes no Benteke, but overall in the squad I would suggest we are stronger, but yes a striker is needed.

It's interesting that all anybody including us has to comment about for this weekend is from Tim. Nothing whatsoever from the club.

Not necessarily. I'd argue we just need a proven week in week out goalscorer and an upgrade on westwood and Guzan, then we would be a lot better and equipped to challenge the 10-20th positioned teams .

Less than an hour ago you were making out virtually none of our players could get into Watford's side as our squad is so poor, now we only need 3 players to potentially make a challenge for 10th? Our squad as it stands can't be that bad then can it if it only needs a bit of tweaking to be safe and looking at 10th?

Wow that's not at all what I said . I'm not that au fait with Watford squad (that was simply used as an example pick another of your choice).
We are shite . If you can't see that , take the C&B specs out

Well it's not clearly when I doubt you'd find many people that think the squads of Watford, Bournemouth or Sunderland are better than ours. I doubt even the fans of those clubs think that.
Which of our players would get into the Watford first team in your opinion ?

You said this and if you don't know their players, why ask that question?

Plus the table doesn't lie and 1-0 Watford when you mentioned their keeper.

So either we have a worse squad or we don't, you seem to be covering both options now, when what started this was you saying you thought our squad was one of the 3 worst in the division so you didn't think we could stay up because of that.

At the end of the day I know we have had a tough period of games but the manager has to get the team playing and decide on his tactics. We should have beaten Sunderland, got a result v the Tesco mob, beaten Leicester when 2-0 up, got a result at Palace, but we didn't.
