Absolutely not.

He has to go, just not at the expense of 3 points, if they're there.
Either he'll continue his piss poor levels of performance and get the sack regardless or he'll pull of a bigger turnaround than someone doing a handbrake turn in an oil tanker.
In which case I'd happily take back all of the insults I've thrown in his direction.

The only point I'd get upset about a positive result is if it was a dose of Lambertisis. Doing just enough to dodge the bullet, but not doing enough to move us in the right direction.  Then you'd really have to hope that Fox sees through it earlier than he did Lambert.

We need three points on Saturday so that we don't become even further adrift...but if we do win it'll be more by luck than judgement.

Irrespective of the result Sherwood needs to be more honest than ever (!!??!!), own up to Fox et al that he can't do the job, accept his pay-off and go.

You can't really say that. We might win the game on merit, who knows but like you said, the 3 points is the important thing.

Do those that want him out want us to lose on Saturday to get their way? or is he already a dead man walking?

No.

I really want him to get the sack, but I really, really, really want us to stop being so shit.

I'd prefer he turned it around starting Saturday, but that doesn't look likely to ever happen.

I want him to turn it round and i'll be honest, I'm glad we haven't sacked him yet.  He'll be on his way if we contimue to lose though and that's fair enough.

With all sincerity Clampy, what evidence have you seen that he deserves more time?

Probably because he brought in a lot of players and we haven't this season been heavilly beaten. Like I said, he can't keep losing although I lost count of how many losing streaks we went on under Lambert.

Fair enough. Personally, I think he's seemingly doing everything he can to stop the players from integrating - we look significantly more disorganised now than at the beginning of the season. As for not being heavily beaten - well, it's true, but we have been plain-old beaten with metric regularity.

He does a good touchline dance?

And he has over 50% win ratio....oh.

Staggered he is still here.

Don't get me wrong, he's made a mess of it overall so far this season (the Leicester game in particular) but with the pre-season player overhaul and how he got us playing at times last season, I just think 8 games would have been too soon. We've got 3 games left this month and I think that would be a good time to look at it.

Okay, we disagree on the timescale (I think we've had enough evidence, but waiting till November is reasonable), but what about the leaks and all the stories about him not wanting half the players and falling out with the backroom? Because if you ask me I think there's only one place all these news stories have come from, and that's pretty inexcusable for a manager. Also, how are the players meant to play for him now?

On a purely footballing side, if I thought he was actually heading towards an idea or a plan I could accept it, but he just isn't. We aren't getting any better and it just seems his selections are completely random. He's said it himself, 'I'll keep trying things until something works'. But it's not only that, it's his interviews in the media where he either throws club staff or players under the bus. He doesn't appear to be able to accept any responsibility for our failings.

Joe Cole who you would think might have an axe to grind because as he hasn't been used and he has been shipped out to Coventry, was gushing in his praise for Sherwood, said he was the man to do it just needed time, he didn't have to say those things,
Bent didn't say good things about Lambert when he went to Derby

If he has fell out with people at the club and has lost the dressing room then that's it he's a 100% gonner because there is no way back from that

but we have to be careful believing everything that we read and putting 2 and 2 together to back up the what we want to believe, sometimes we believe what we want to be true

I haven't noticed the players not playing for him, in fact I think they have been giving there all, its just not been enough, along with individual errors,
but I don't see any mutiny going on like some on here

the only thing that counts is results - and he ain't getting any. More of the same can only lead to the sign marked Exit.

The big problem for Sherwood, and why I wouldn't advocate any more time after Saturday, is that it's not possible for anyone to say how we play. What the plan is. You, me, anyone can go into a dressing room and say pass it about, look for so-and-so and support Gestede but that means little. What is our shape? Who has the runners? What is the plan for closing down? I.E. If Gestede goes do we all go? What responsibilities defensively do the attacking players have? Where do we think we can cause maximum damage? We don't really know and I think the point is that neither does Sherwood.
