Timbo's version of we go again.

Do those that want him out want us to lose on Saturday to get their way? or is he already a dead man walking?

I never want a villa manager to lose games.  However what I really don't want is for him to muddle together a result as a fluke every now and then.  A win this weekend might kep him in the job for a few more weeks, if he were to then sneak a win at Everton and get something at home to Watford it might be enough to give him until Chrsitmas, on and on, never going on a run to get us genuinely safe but never being quite as terrible as the last 2 months.  For me that's the worst possible outcome and it's exactly what i think will happen so even if we win at the weekend I still want him out and only a run of 3-4 wins will change my opinion.

I agree with that Paul.

Also, I don't see how his position is tenable in any case, given that he's been gobbing off to the media about his colleagues and how he doesn't want half of his players. After that there's no place for him at Villa.

Makes you think how the fuck is he still here?

Posted elsewhere, but a damning assessment of Sherwood made before he joined us.
And spookily accurate.

Great article and stated what has come to be for us. For those who bring plague upon their house destruction is inevitable! We have done that. Couple of passages:

"The fact of the matter is this: Tim Sherwood is not the sort of person a professional institution of any nature should want to be associated with."

and

"This is not a man that any football fan should want anywhere near their football club. Is he likely to win the odd football match and introduce a style of football that, much like a car crash, is watchable in a perverse way?"

It's either because of the continued weak leadership of the club at senior level or because they are hoping to avoid a pay off as continual gobbing off could lead to him being sacked for misconduct, thereby reducing compensation pay out.

Or worse of all because Fox thinks it's a genuine false narrative

There are 29 games left.

How the fuck is he going to get this team to win another 34+ points, which might mean we stay up.

I suspect that

A   They don't want to sack yet another manager and then appoint yet another manager

B  They haven't got a clue who to appoint if they do sack the manager

Also:

"His biggest achievement in his time in charge was the immediate introduction of Nabil Bentaleb to first-team football, for which he deserves credit, but that’s one note of success drowned out by a cacophony of various failings."

For Bentaleb, read Grealish.

And:

"what you’ll also find is increased press access within the club, streams of information leaks and sourceless exclusives across the internet and a growing sense of disillusionment with your club the longer he stays in charge."

Bang.

Or it could be that they are honouring the two games statement, while although unofficial was never denied. Let's see after Swansea

There was also this (grammatically painful, but fluent enough) article, which was a warning to QPR fans when it looked like Tim would be rocking up there:

http://www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?186118-Spurs-Fans-view-of-Sherwood

Lines which stick with me include "Its not that he has bad tactics its that he generally seemed to lack any tactics at all" and "Sherwood's team selections gave the impression that he had no idea why the things that worked were effective, so he just stuck with it until it stopped working." This all seems quite prescient.

The 2nd of those is clearly true.  Delph and Cleverley, behind Grealish and Benteke worked when he arrived and got us enough points to survive but ever since he's been fucking about with tactics, selections and substitutions trying to find something to match, there's no thought or reason to it, it's a genuine "throw it all at the wal land see what sticks" approach to management that has no place at this level.  That's why the point when I went from undecided to wanting him gone was when he publicly admitted that was what he was doing.  I'd personally have sacked him within minutes of reading that quote, it's gross incompetence and what's more he doesn't seem to have any idea of that, it's as if he thinks this is actually acceptable.

Or (hopeful hat on) they're getting all their cards lined up for when he does go, not that we could be more rudderless at the moment. I suspect the ball boys and kit man could come up with a more cohesive game plan than the last 2 or 3 I've seen.

No.

I really want him to get the sack, but I really, really, really want us to stop being so shit.

I'd prefer he turned it around starting Saturday, but that doesn't look likely to ever happen.
