If they appointed Bob Bradley, I honestly think that'd be it for me with Aston Villa until Lerner managed to sell.

It'd be an act of extreme stupidity, even coming from the people who genuinely thought appointing Alex McLeish might work.

Completely agree.

I've no idea how Bradley is doing in Norway but the last two "big managers" to come out of Norway have been OGS and Ståle Solbakken who was such a raging success at Cologne and Wolves after winning everything in sight at FC Copenhagen that he's ended up back there albeit with without anywhere near the same success.  The standard in Scandinavia simply isn't good enough.

If he was dominating a league from the next level like Belgium or Holland then fair enough, but most top flight teams in Denmark and Norway and good chunk in Sweden are 3rd and 4th division standard.

Having been to watch Brann a few times I agree, the standard is awful.

McLeish was a decent man who did have the best interests of the club at heart. Lambert was out of his depth. Both were operating under constraints set by Lerner.

out of all our last 5 managers MON, Houllier, McLeish, Lambert and Sherwood its McLeish who I respect the most as a person,
he never bad mouthed us while in office or when he left, handled himself with dignity the whole time he was with here,
I didn't want him I don't like his style of football, but as a man he was top class

I'd happily have someone who punched kittens in the face regularly, so long as he got results!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really looking for a job as a football manager.

I've been told if we merge the Sherwood threads he will get sacked.

My son met him recently and was very impressed. He seems to be a genuinely good and decent person.

I spoke to McLeish on the phone about a year ago, he was so complimentary about the club and said he was told to prepare for the next season. When he called about his list of targets he was sacked.

Was full of praise for the fans, and was a genuinely nice bloke.

Then again, I met O'Leary once and he seemed ok too....

Really? I've met O'Leary, and he was an oily, smarmy, self-promoting meat-headed  arsehole. When the conversation drifted off the topic of David O'Leary, he consistently interrupted it and brought it back to that topic. All this was before he managed Villa too so I had no particular axe to grind.

If we win on Saturday , I bet Sherwood makes the victory all about him and not the players.

Tim Sherwood comes out swinging, Tim Sherwood won't get down, Tim Sherwood said we had to patient and it will pay off. Tim Sherwood will keep this club up.

Tim Sherwood is a ******.

What a pointless post, all just to call him a name. Very civil of you.

CAN'T work out tactics, CAN'T buy a win, CAN'T accept any responsibility for anything, etc etc...
