Well the SSN panel are all behind Sherwood...pretty much blaming the transfer policy which they believe TS wasn't happy with.

On a side note...Merse sounds very "slurry" today. Hope he hasnt slipped off the wagon.

You man someone actually watches that crap? After all the years of shiteness they have come out with? A bigger bunch of thick ex-footballers it would be difficult to find. Totally London and NW centric whilst passing off lazy opinions about every other club inbetween.

The board were all in US last week to meet Lerner. Sherwood not present. Kind of says it all really.

Yes, it says he was doing the job of managing the team.

And he said in his press conference that he was asked but preferred to stay behind and concentrate on training.

Well they interpreted the "I would have cast my eye over them" quote as they weren't TS first or second choice players, and questioned both the transfer policy, who made the decisions and the players response to that quote whilst shifting blame from both Sherwood and Lambert. They were clearly pointing the finger of blame towards Lerner for our current predicament.

The thing about this "transfergate" issue is: the manager is highly unlikely to be completely uninvolved in the discussions about players in / out. I'm willing to bet that TS, Tom Fox, O'Reilly and the other fella will have had detailed conversations about targets.
For the manager to claim total ignorance about transfers lacks credibility.

Either he's talking out of his arse / being economical with the truth if he was involved
Or
1. Working within a framework he agreed to when he took the job.
2. Was too stupid / desperate / naive to ask the question when he took the job.

Either way he has contributed to his own situation and if he doesn't like it, I'm sure he knows where Fox's office is to tender his resignation.

I think, whisper it, O'Leary agreed to forsake the money Leeds owed him to help them with their financial problems.

(I'd have let them go bust).
Not true at all
He was on payroll years after leaving

I think there is a chance Robbie Fowler is still on the payroll. I think they are paying him off £1000 a week until 2050.

From the OS

We gifted goals away.

The second one was a little bit fluky.

We have had a few deflected goals against us. When you're down there that's what you get.

I've lost count. I think it might be five or six deflected goals we've conceded this season.

That one wasn't even on target. It's come off Alan's heel and it shouldn't have been a problem but you get punished and you just have to move on.

To give away the first was so important. In the Premier League, scoring the first goal gives you a chance.

To gift them one like that was very disappointing.

On the positives…

We will move on now.

It was encouraging at points in the game.

We dominated the game in the first period without opening them up too many times. We have had a few chances.

They have had none except the one we gifted them.

There were positives. We have come to the Bridge and matched them.

We haven't sat back and tried to dig in and nick something. We have took the game to them.

Unfortunately we didn't have that cutting edge which you're going to need to win football matches.

We have come here and played on the front foot. We have matched Chelsea stride for stride.

Unfortunately we have gifted them a first goal and it was an uphill struggle after that.

But it's onwards and upwards now.

Exactly. They talk crap becuase they no nothing of other teams.

We spent £40m in the summer. You would expect some improvement from last year. Sherwood is as thick as the pundits.

listend for about 20 mins today and Merse was having troible stringing a few words together

I really wish Sherwood would just fuck off, and sharpish. He's actually more of a wanker than I had feared when he joined.

Agreed, but when was the last time you heard of a manager resigning out of principle? No doubt he'll stick around waiting for the pay off.

Brian Little

Graham Taylor. Since then it's all about the money.
Just to be clear, I don't for a split second believe that sherwood would ever consider doing the decent thing and resigning. He clearly lacks the most basic of self-awareness to see his terminal shortcomings as a manager. I want fox to bin him, and bin him quickly.

To be a football manager you've got to amongst other things have the hide of a rhino and self-esteem that makes prime Muhammed Ali seem modest. Given that, it's highly unlikely that any manager is ever going to think he isn't good enough for a job or can't turn round any situation.

Nothing to do with pride or arrogance, its totally about the pay off

This whole thing about I was not allowed to sign the players I really wanted is straight out of the Martin O'Neill playbook.

They're all part of the ex-player mafia who rarely criticise each other and always know better than the fans.

The most depressing thing in all this is the meek acceptance of it by the club. They accepted it and accepted it from Lambert before they absolutely couldn't not sack him.

They appointed this clueless, unqualified interloper and are now going to do the same thing they did with Lambert.

What I find amazing is that Fox reckoned Sherwood was on "a shortlist of one" and had to go down and see him a few times to "persuade him" to take the job. I can't help think that some of the people involved in running this club have a lower opinion of it than people supporting rival clubs.

The new manager bounce saved us last season but look at the last few results. The cup final embarassment. Getting tonked at home to Burnley, a relegated side. Making QPR, one of the worst away sides in years, look quality at our place. Getting spanked 6-1 by Southampton. Look at the fact that he still managed to lose half the games we played last season, when he was largely seen as having done a good job. We finished 17th FFS.

The last five years have been horrendous, but what I find staggering - because I honestly thought it wasn't even possible - is that this season so far has actually been worse.

Throw in the fact that he has admitted things like he doesn't know his best side (really, Tim? Really?) yet, he says he will "change things around and hope something clicks", has had us in more formations and shapes than your average porn star manages in a career, frequently makes changes which throw away points, talks nonsense of the sort that anyone with half a brain cell can see through (the first half against Small Heath, where we just lumped long balls at Championship defenders who handle that shit every week, and looked second best, that was all part of his cunning plan), refuses to see himself as even remotely fallible ("there was nothing wrong with my tactics" after the Leicester shocker) and has started blaming everyone else in the media (he didn't choose the players - a great argument which will have gone down well with said players, and would have deeply annoyed the people running the club if only they were bright enough to actually understand what he was implying) and it really doesn't look very good.

And no doubt Fox will be prepping the "false narratives" routine about now, standing firmly behind his clueless appointment.

The media have been turning the bunsen burner up a few notches in the past few days. Fox must realise he is in the firing line and he should be making enquiries with prospective managers. It is a serious position for both Tom Fox and the club.
