I have absolutely no confidence left in Sherwood to even turn this round, and more importantly, I genuinely dont want him to.

You probably should!

With all the talk and speculation, does anyone else feel like we are officially in limbo until we suffer a few more bad results. I have absolutely no confidence left in Sherwood to even turn this round, and more importantly, I genuinely dont want him to. Nothing against the man on a personal level because he was a fresh of breath air when he first walked in, but it now stinks of bullshit and the prospect of actually getting a genuine quality football manager is the only thing that gives me hope for this season. I want him gone.

You don't want us to win games because you don't like the manager? You are a fan aren't you?

I knew that bit would get picked out as it does by someone every time the new manager debate comes around...obviously I don't want us to lose games, I just can't see Sherwood achieving anything more than putting out a losing team any time soon. At least we win the chance of survival if we lose the next few games, just as we did under Lambert...its just that its going to happen much sooner in the season this time around.

@ Clampy - I also clearly stated that I have nothing against Sherwood personally. I actually quite like him but he's clearly lost his way and out of his depth as a manager.

I can sort of understand what KRS is getting at (I think), but it's an unfortunate way to put it.

If Sherwood could engineer a genuine turnaround from all of this then great, but the worst of all worlds is that he keeps getting the odd result to buy himself a bit more time without actually shifting us up the league.  So we never actually go anywhere, but we never get rid of a failing manager either.

In that scenario it really would be short term pain for a chance of long term gain.  I'd hope that this time around Fox & Co. are sharp enough to not fall the worst of all worlds scenario.

This club has always been about Scottish managers, the good the bad the ugly, and next The Moyesey. Bring it on, I'd be happy with DM leading the club out of the darkness.

Also think Moyes is the best option, I just hope he would be willing to leave his current job.

Given the way it's going at the moment, Sociedad would probably pay us to take him.

I can understand the support for Moyes or Rodgers.  I just have this feeling that Frank de Boer could be a really good fit.

We are not in a state to take risks with the position we find ourselves in the league, therefore we have to go for a manager with knowledge of the PL, hence the only options are Moyes or Rogers in my opinion.
Once we achieve some stability then we might be able to take more risks with our managerial appointments.

Getting De Boer would be a major coup. I imagine he's got higher profile positions in mind.

Bergkamp is his assistant manager. I would be interested to see how he would fare as a manager (although I'm not suggesting we go down the inexperienced route again).

If Moyes ever indicated he wanted the Villa job I'd sack Sherwood in a heartbeat.

While I'd quite like Rodgers and could stomach Moyes, I take issue with the logic here. How are the failed Liverpool manager or failing Sociedad manager less risky than the three-time league winning Ajax manager?
