Let's put it this way. Nobody would be excited at the prospect of Moyes being our new manager.

But we probably wouldn't be approaching Saturday afternoons in a state of abject terror any more.

I dont remember  under moyes Everton being that dull ala Stoke ?, hard to beat work ethic yes  ala abit Martin Oneil ? , sorry  :-[

If for some reason they decide to dispense with Tim Sherwood it would appear we have the choice of the following.

Brendan Rodgers. Dreadful at Reading. In and out at Liverpool. He bought a self obsessed circus act in Balotelli so that sums him up for me.

David Moyes. A couple of years ago yes but has failed in his current post and his previous post, so no.

Nigel Pearson  Highly successful in the latter stages of his Leicester tenure but very grumpy and  dull in speech. Hang on a minute doesnt that describe the greatest manager in the history of Aston Villa. Hmmmmmm!

I do wonder what people want. I mean, people don't want a relegation battle but want to be entertained. Those two don't come together overnight. Short term is to have a few seasons where we're not dicking around the bottom six. Once we actually establish ourselves as a midtable club again we might be in a position to start progressing other facets. Priority number one is survival in any form it takes.

The dull Moyes thing is BS. They were a relegation candidate when he took over and he oversaw a squad that were established in the top 6 and could upset any of the big boys on their day. I would take that over anything I've seen since the MON era.

I really like Nigel Pearson, he's not a bad manager at all (he did a great job as caretaker manager at the stripeyfilth until they binned him for Tony Mowbray, I think).  He did seem to lose the plot a little last season though.

Moyes does not get me excited but getting the Man Utd job is a high benchmark. It didn't work out but to get that job is quite a high recommendation. He has something but missed that little bit extra to get top players to perform consistently at a very high level was beyond him.

Yeah but , expectetion was unreal, tbf the united team needed an overall and ferguson new it, Moyes had to hit the ground running cuz most people thought ferguson as the best, and he was given licence even though united were on the down.

Pearson might be a decent manager, but his character just makes him impossible to hire. He's an absolute PR nightmare.

Rodgers did pretty well at Swansea and I think he's almostly certainly better than Sherwood.

Pearson scares the life out of me. He's like Roy Keane but more unbalanced

He might be a half decent football manager, but as a human being he's the worst kind of human detritus, and I'd be ashamed to have him anywhere near our club.  He's a bullying turd and an utter scumbag in my opinion, I'd rather have a dream team of Trevor Francis, Tony Pulis and Paul Tait in charge.

Not sure Moyes can be described as a failure in his current post. Sociedad had 9 points from 11 games last season when he took over and in danger of a relegation scrap, they ended the season with 46 points from 38 games and comfortably in 12th. He's had a bad start to this season admittedly with 1 win in 7, but the job he did last season there is the type of job we'd need him to do here, I'm sure we'd all take 12th from our current position, which is very similar to Sociedad's start last season.

Out of Rodgers and Moyes I would lean towards Rodgers and I think the type of players Villa have been recruiting over the Summer would suit Rodgers style more.

Rodgers, Moyes or Pearson.

I know beggars can't be choosers, but it's not very inspiring is it?

Former Liverpool manager, former Manchester United manager and succesful Everton manager or Pearson.

I think the first two are decent managers, the other I wouldn't want near our club. We're a club on a downward spiral and in the bottom three, they are easily the best we could hope for if we are only going for British managers.

As I said before, there is something very unsavoury about Pearson, almost sinister. I wouldn't put him in care of any small domestic pets that's for sure.

With Rodgers I would be looking for a good assistant and coaching set-up. Remember he left Watford to join Reading and then relegated them. He was lucky at the redscouse having Suarez and Sturridge firing + Gerard still influential. Tbf Gerard is very complimentary of Rodgers which isn't a bad reference.

Moyes would be a good fit and won't be lacking in motivation. I feel he might get us organised quicker and make us harder to beat.

Pearson looks more like a nightclub bouncer and I have no idea if he is any good or not. Would be a big gamble.

Whatever happens will be a gamble but Sherwood gives me little or no confidence of getting us on track.
