Love the celebration after the goal.

I'll never tire of seeing that!

Seemed rather contrived to me. The first part looked genuine.

Was thinking the same. Unless it was just relief which you can understand I suppose. But he's aware of surroundings I'll give him that and he'd know that kind of stuff makes great copy and TV.

Seems genuine to me. I have celebrated like that. The initial bounce when it goes in which is more instinct than anything followed by the massive jump and fist pump when it sinks in what has happened. In my case I then start anxiously looking around hoping nobody is staring at me, pretty sure Tim skips stage three :)

How teams finish a half is generally how people remember the game going.  Not saying that we were not poor in the first half but I remember thinking around 25 minutes into the game that Blues were getting back into the game.  We started the better of the two sides for the first 15 to 20 minutes.  Also, the closest either side came to scoring in my opinion was Sinclair's near post shot after we broke quickly and which the TV coverage almost missed.

If nothing else from the first half it knocks off the list a way of playing and puts to bed the idea of Clark in midfield that a few had raised over the last two weeks.  As an extra defender in front of the defence, may be, but not as constructive deep midfield player.  It also showed how not to use Gestede.

The second half showed what does work and that both Ayew and Veretout can play.  If Sherwood learns from both first and second half, the sooner we can get to the best way to play and the players that best suit.

We won. Did what we needed to do and now we're in the draw.

Once again our obsessed neighbours will be willing some other club to knock us out a cup as they've all fallen by the wayside already.

They already are...texts from Baggies fans hoping Shane Long knocks us out.

Not sure how is happened, but apparently Villa fans are now known as 6 fingered inbreds amongst Baggies and Blose fans. Since when were they allowed to steal our insults rather than just be bitter and jealous?

It happens, even dumb animals can ape human behavior if they watch for long enough. It doesn't mean anything is going on behind the eyes though.  :)

Crystal Palace is a fantastic name for a football team as is Aston Villa and Accrington Stanley. Is there a story as why they had the Stanley included? Too bust today to do a bit of research.

There was a team from Accrington called Stanley Villa, and Accrington took their name to become Accrington Stanley.

The Stanley bit comes from The Stanley Arms pub on Stanley Street where Stanley Villa were based.
Thanks Dave I didn't know that fact.

Most of you will know Oldham Athletic were originally called Pine Villa.Thought it may have something to do with us as we were ultra famous in the last decade of the 1800's

Nothing definite but it was something to do with the local cotton mill and possibly a house with the name Pine Villa

Also to point out that 'Crystal palace' is not really a team name but the name of the area. Which in turn was named after the great glass structure of the 19th century.
