I'm still more gutted about our tempo Saturday against Brom than the lead we threw away against City where There was a lot of good points. Saturday's game just never got going for us and to be so out bossed and to have so few chances was gutting.

I like Tim but I think Moyes could get more out of what we have, simply because of his experience. One of our problems is that by and large we have the inexperienced leading the inexperienced.

I agree with this and as such want him to succeed and am prepared to at least give him until Christmas (Providing we beat that pile of stinking shite tomorrow)

Its nuts that people want him gone 6 games in to a season where we signed a whole team of players and brought in new coaching staff as well.

It's not that nuts, surely? Particularly when the reasons people were worried about his appointment are being seen game after game. Barring the positive transfer activity during the summer, what other causes for optimism have we seen?

The players we signed do appear to have talent, Amavi, Gana, Traore, Richards and Lescott for example are all positive.

Some our attacking play has been great to watch and we'd scored in 4 games in a row before Saturday and in 5 out of 7 this season so far.

i am certainly not having a go, but bloody hell, we can't be expecting very much if scoring in 4 games in row is considered a positive.

Then again, compared to  last season's record breaking runs, maybe it's manna from heaven?

- fa cup quarter final and semi final
- brought belief back to players and around the place generally
- generally much more honest and entertaining engagements with media
- backing the right players (generally, not always)

I'm still in the pro-Sherwood camp. I do instinctively like him and like his positivity. We've thrown a squad together in a way most of us supported, after years of boring mismanagement. We said "give it time to gel". We're roughly where we were last year, after losing our best two players, and after having some annoying injuries to important players. So let's at least let him have until Christmas to see how he can bring it together before getting on his back.

That was my point really. We are scoring goals. Not enough, admittedly, but they are going in.

I can't be arsed with pulling apart the rights and wrongs of his efforts this season. He gets more time but with a watchful eye because his honeymoon period has to be much shorter than predecessors. Simply because we don't have the time to allow them a huge honeymoon.

A weekend at the seaside rather than a 3 week safari if you will.

The Villa "crisis" has been all over SSN today, so the good news is that TS very much knows that the results are not acceptable and its up to him now, and more than ever, to do something about it. He always talks a good game but there's only so much talk and excuses that the fans and media are prepared to accept.

Sod em. We have lost a few games narrowly and just lost to West Brom by a single goal. I was very much doom and gloom this weekend as well but honestly we have a good squad and Sherwood for all his flaws is still a solid manager in my eyes. I will start freaking out in a couple of months. September is too soon for a "Villa in crisis" meltdown imho.
