Have to wonder whether Fox has already quietly started considering possible replacements.

Yes and he should be. It's obviously not the ideal scenario but you often have to war game the worst case scenarios in business so your at least prepared to some degree.

But then again, this is Randy Lerner's Aston Villa we're talking about.

The first part of this article is spot on in my opinion.

I doubt it. The fact that he was seen at VP weeks before Lambert's sacking and that he was the only one candidate we interviewed suggests they're good friends.

So was I and 37,000 others not qualified to manage a football team. The difference between Tim Sherwood and the TSMs is that he will not hang about to be slagged off and booed. He will walk. Whether you think that is good or bad is entirely personal but it certainly is not good for the stability of the club to be back at square one looking for somebody of quality prepared to lie on the Villa Park bed of nails.

Yes I agree he will walk. I do not think he will take another couple of defeats in the League very well. The problem is having bought some adequate players we are stuck with a manager who is inadequate. We appear incapable of matching the two and getting it right at the moment.

Moyes' struggling at Sociedad. Worth a punt if Sherwood doesn't work out in the next few weeks?

My personal opinion is that in the same way Benteke saved Lambert's sorry arse, Adama will save Sherwood the need to walk. With him in the side I am totally, unshakeably of the opinion that we would have beaten Sunderland and at least not lost to Leicester and that would have made the bitters game much less nerve fuelled. Sherwood has eyes in his head. He could see the job of work Notts County were doing on Traore and he should have taken him off before the inevitable could and did happen. Our Keystone Kops defending had ensured that Notts could easily have won that game if that missed sitter had put them 4-2 up so the price was paid in an unnecessary injury to our best player.

We should be ready to replace Tim with Moyes but we might have to wait 3 or 4 weeks before it happens. Perhaps we could put Moyes in and Keep Tim as assistant manager or something. But will it be possible for Tim to swallow his pride and accept a demotion.

In the first place his pride\ego would not countenance a demotion and in the second place the media would be fighting each other to employ him.

All this talk of TS leaving seems way to premature to me.

I think he would wait until much later in the season.

He knows that if he fails here he would find it impossible to get another top job so will leave it as late as possible before thinking of quitting.

No, thanks. Regardless of the circumstances that will be two successive failures for him.

I like Tim but I think Moyes could get more out of what we have, simply because of his experience. One of our problems is that by and large we have the inexperienced leading the inexperienced.
