I'm normally fairly positive and patient, but I've taken a proverbial chainsaw to that. We've entered our six season now of being utter shite and it became old a long time ago.

As I see it now, Sherwood is not up to it and neither is the squad. I'm not sure whether this year will be our year, but the indications are there that it will be a huge fight to hit 38 points again.

We cannot defend. That's a massive problem. We play third division standard shite in Westwood in midfield, that's a problem. We have absolutely nothing up front, that's a problem. We have a manager that has an inability to change games and leaves us far too open. That's a problem.

Put these matters together and you have a recipe for relegation.

The last two home games are a microcosm for the past five years and a road map for what is to come.
That last sentence is perfectly put, and so bloody scary.

Oh dear, he's only gone and referred to himself in the third person!

"Tim Sherwood is at his best when he's backed into a corner."

Referring to yourself as a some kind of separate identity is the refuge of someone with increasingly desperate delusions of his own grandeur, and block out that little voice in your head that's getting louder and louder..'You don't know what you're doing'

Still, it's a wonderful opportunity to take the piss...Tim Sherwood is at his best when...?

I like Sherwood. At the very least he knows where we're going wrong and seems like he's actively trying to change that. But he's got the brains of something you'd find in a fucking fish tank, which is his fatal flaw. Tactically he's poor and his substitions are more often than not shite. I'd have him over Lambert every day of the week, but we're still looking at a manager who will probably take us down.

We did at least try, but not signing an established striker was a huge error. Punting 9 million on Ayew is looking like a big error already. We should have spent that on someone a little more proven.

I haven't given up on him yet, but he needs to sort this out fast.

I think we need a poll.

I'm dumbfounded at the lack of patience this  time round.

He's brought in so many new players, new coaching staff, new ways of playing and yet the knives are out. He did enough last season to warrant being given a shot, yet he's not being afforded one.

I think that's the situation we're in. Every manager will get less and less time with fans now until one gets instant success.

We're all so tired of the shit.

fair point

however i cannot accept his tactical naivety and a team that cant really be arsed in a local derby

yesterday was no different to watching a lambert team

I take your point for yesterday, but what about the other games,
yes we lost but you cannot say they were Lambert type games, we were trying to play some good football at times just wasted it on silly mistakes and substitutions

no matter what manager we bring in he we will get bad games,
if Alardyce was here we would get some good results combined with stuff far worse than anything Sherwood can cook up believe me, just ask hammers fans and they finished above us last term

i'm not by any means happy with the way things are, i'm damn sure Sherwoods not either
but its to early to call time on him just yet

Another problem is that we couldn't afford for his signings not to be up to scratch, but so far Ayew and Gestede look dreadful. We haven't got a striker worthy of the name.

Still, I do hope he'll work out. When Gueye and Traore are fit again we should look better.

Yep totally agree with you there
We did do something about the striker situation we signed two centre forwards, the problem is they don't look good enough, so it still leaves us short

If even one of them had hit the hound running we might have been ok

Gestede in particular looks very limited, can't really say to much about Ayew, but he certainly hasn't done anything of note yet

Losing to you local rivals doesn't help especially when you play like they did. Also, problem that TS has, he has no record to fall back on, he has never done it at another club, even Lambert had his successful time at Norwich. It's more of a gamble.
Add on to the fact we have had the last few years struggling at the wrong end of the table, patience is a bit thin, not his fault, but we want to see us winning a few bloody games.

I think people's patience has been all but used up by Houllier, TSM Mk1, TSM Mk 2 and the various numpties Lerner has inflicted on us in the boardroom, including himself. It's not fair on TS but I think that's how many feel.

The club ,from top to bottom, has been a shambles for years now and just as we looked like we were getting somewhere we embarrassed ourselves on the one day we've had of actually winning something and within days half the team walked out the door.  We all tried to put a brave spin on things but by and large it was the little bit of quality we still had that left and we were back, no beyond being back, to square one.

So there's a general lack of patience with the club in general, and I can understand that.  9 years after Lerner walked through the door and this will be our 6th successive season of struggle. I'm astonished our crowds hold up as they do tbh.

At the very least he knows where we're going wrong and seems like he's actively trying to change that.

I would disagree with you right there Tom.  Every report, comment, opinion, statement on the Leicester debacle from fans, commentators, pundits, reporters, and 6 year olds identified the main problems as Sherwood's rubbish substitutions and tactical ineptitude and naivety.  With the sole exception of Sherwood who said he wasn't sure the substitutions were the reason we lost, and blamed individual errors.  He's either deluded, arrogant, stupid or burying his head in the sand, or a combination of all of them.  Either way it doesn't add up to knowing where we are going wrong, let alone addressing it.   I mean, were yesterday's substitutions any better?   From what I heard Gil was the only one likely to create anything and  he took him off.

I'm not sure that kind of ineptitude will get better with time, so the patience argument is kind of void.   However anyone advocating Allardyce as the only alternative needs to get out more.  If the likes of Southampton can find decent managers, surely we can look beyond dinosaurs like big Sam.
