2-0 up away from home, 25 minutes to go against a team that have lost one of their last 15 or so games, where tempo and moving back to front quickly is their game plan - the approach is not difficult. Make the changes to retain your shape and don't leave gaps between your backline, midfield and forwards.

It was really a text book example of how not to manage a lead. Dreadful on and off the pitch.

Our players need to be held accountable to their actions. The individual mistakes killed us as much as his own ability to tactically adjust. For too long our players have had it easy so I didn't find anything wrong in what he said about the mistakes. I just hope the looks in the mirror once in a while in doing so. There's a lot he has done well and right since coming to the club and he needs to mature enough to maintain and build on that. It's well and good being gutted after a defeat. He needs to realise quickly that he isn't a fan, he doesn't need to feel like us when we lose. He needs to have a far more rational and considered approach before, during and after games to ensure we don't see the volatility of our play that we have seen of late.

In truth we kind of knew this volatility of our play thing would transpire as soon as he took charge.  All of us welcomed it as we were sick and tired of Lambert and his sideways, sideways, back...sideways, sideways, back......sideways, sideways back...hoof!

He's not an idiot he will learn. As the team gel and get fitter we should see an improvement to results.

Sunday was the first time for a long while that I really got pissed off with Villa. To give away a 2-0 lead was so annoying, after an excellent first half.
The loss was entirely down to poor decision-making by the manager.
Rather than the optimism that this new season deserves, we are in a rearguard-action mode. I hope that TS has learned plenty from the games we've played this season and reflects this in the next few. Otherwise, we are back where we started: fighting relegation and with players that are playing well below their capability.

No it wasn't.  It had a big influence on the result as it turned out but what if the players had not made the mistakes leading to the goals.
You're right to pick me up on my perhaps-overzealous desire to criticise TS. My main point, however, was to express the hope that he has learned lots from the last few games and puts the lessons into action.

Right, I've calmed down enough to post again. Sherwood is very inexperienced, but looking at his interviews afterwards he didn't try to make excuses he just looked gutted. I will give the guy the benefit of doubt here, he knows he got it wrong, he knows the players folded and he will hopefully learn from this. The fact that his demeanor after the game showed that he was suffering was good enough for me to think given time he will get it right.

Starting on Sat. A home defeat by that lot and the knives will be out. If we can create chances like we have been and learn from naive tactics we should be ok. But can TS learn from his mistakes?

On another day

He makes a striker change as they cannot commit too many forward as we had just done them with a text book counter attack goal. We again counter and score another - game over he is considered a courageous manager and we all love the new format. Even when their first went in I thought we would go down the other end and score again.

Like a prize fighter clearly ahead on points, one punch out the blue has you reeling and once the opposition has momentum you could find your self knocked out.

20 minutes where the players fell apart, surprising considering the experience of Lescott / Richards, but fall apart on the pitch they did

The margins are that small

how vulnerable is he if we get turned over by Albion and Blues? obviously not at all to management/Lerner but to the fans? Is it his TSM1 moment?

A wonky start was always on the cards. Injuries have made it more fraught. I fully expect poor results in the two local derbies but the significance of them is inflated and our season should not be judged solely on them. I am more worried about Traore's ankle than the local riff raff.

Agreed it would be utterly ridiculous if that were the case.

He was offering 10/1 for a Leicester win
