Sherwood will never be a successful manager for us, but he might build a squad capable of success under the manager who takes over from him.

I'm not exactly sure,  but I think that playing a very empty midfield and conceding a lot was a common them when he was at spurs?

He had a striker that managed to get on a hot streak and a great many other players that needed a kick up the arse. A real "we'll just score more than you" coach.

When you're 2-0 and the tide is beginning to turn you need to give more support to the midfield. It's pretty fucking simple.

I'm reminded of how military types will talk about the difference between 'strategy' and 'tactics'. There's much to admire about Tim's strategy, but his tactics are not very good at all.

Out of his depth.

But replace him with whom? After our recent managerial track record?

As I've said before, he talks a good game. I've been waiting to see if he could live up to those words. Sadly, nice chap that he is, he's way out of his depth.

Substations were obviously a catastrophe. But that aside why do our players look so short of fitness? Every week on about 60 minutes they all begin to flake.

Does anyone remember a shot of Tim when we were 2-0 up, doing something weird with his hands? I think he was signalling that he wanted lots of inter-changing.

That's all well and good, but when you're defending a lead, you need shape, structure and to fill gaps.

The run of games where he has made total fuck ups now runs a long way and over several games.
He is clearly out of his depth but I am afrtaid we are stuck with him.
Lets hope  that he grows a football managers brain soon.

I hope he learns quickly from mistakes. There was a massive positive from our play at times and we can be a very good team. There was also a massive negative in which the substitutions cost us the game.
If he's capable of learning and taking advice in the next few days after this game we could still have a decent season.

Sack him Villa! Sack him now!

He's obviously the type who's always going to blame the players, or individual mistakes for every defeat and conveniently ignore his lack of even the most basic tactical acumen. As soon as the second half kicked off, anyone could see we were too open. We got the second out of nowhere really, and so what does he do? Takes of Gil, which was fine as he was obviously struggling to get back and cover for Bacuna down that flank, but puts on a striker and lays out the red carpet for them!

He's another Stuart Pearce, dumb as fuck and nowhere near management material, he's got to go!!

In fairness, he picked a really attacking team and it worked. I wouldn't give up on him yet, but I would be looking for Wilkins to give him some more support. He must have doubted his subs today.

The 16 millions spent for Ayew and Gestede spoke volumes, but after seeing the substitutions that he made with Leicester, the way he conceded the midfield to Ranieri, with the useless Ayew that voul not even keep the ball up,  I have definitely understood  why Spurs sacked him.
