Talking to a friend in Portugal, TS is smiling, relaxed and seems happy !

Do hope he's got things up his sleeve ... can't see him effing about.

One thing we can say is with all the comings and goings that very soon this will start to look like Sherwood's Villa team/squad and that is when things get interesting.

What is quite encouraging is that, from what Gueye says, Sherwood was a big influence when it came to joining the club. It's good that Sherwood appears to be able to convince highly regarded talent to join Villa. We've already seen Richards, Gueye and Amavi join and they certainly seem to be a level up on what we were able to get previously.

The comments about Gil were great to read. Easy to understand, clear reasoning, not blind to his ability at all but willing not to play good players who don't fit into a larger vision. That's actually really encouraging.

I'll second that.  I'm actually beginning to look forward to the new season and life after Benteke...

Interesting to see Tim's comments on Gabby. He specifically mentioned that Gabby has been shifting weight. I'm glad it's finally been recognised because Gabby has looked a stone overweight for a few years now. It does seem like Sherwood seems to be able to identify issues we have and go about dealing with them. We rarely seemed to do anything under Lambert when it was required.

If we can fire a rocket up Gabby's backside, he could become more consistently useful again. He owes us a solid season.

Doesn't seem the warmest comments on Kozak though - "he might be what we're looking for"....

I think Libor will get his chance. We'll see. He's got pre-season to impress Sherwood, and as we know, Sherwood appreciates hard work.

Depends how he said it.
Head slightly tilted, emphasis on "might"; bad.
Slowly nodding, tiny emphasis on" what"; good.

One thing is for sure, TS knows how to clearly get players up for the challenge.
I'm sure Kozak has seen his statement, and maybe that will give him the push he needs.
I for one rate him, not sure he will bang in Tekkers style, but come up with winning goals when looking like a stalemate.
Again, Gabby will probably shine for a few months, I hope he gives us a great season, I would love to see him finish with a great goal tally.
With all the shit that's gone on, at least he is Villa, through and through, you wouldn't get Gabby shipping out, he deserves more plaudits.

played darts last night against a team of spurs fans (6)
they all to a man loved Sherwood, said they wish he was still their manager
loved his passion and thought he was tactically underated

I know this is no great breaking news story, just saying

oh, and we were welcome to Adebayor

(I took down their top man 2-1, I was fucking awesome)

Good lad John.  I've been impressed by Sherwood so far, think he's played things very well so far. (Forgetting for a second that game of football against Arsenal that I've forgotten).

Interesting KMac is no longer listed on the site.

Congratulations the daily mirror have nicked your observation

Just posted this in the Birmingham Mail/Villa coverage thread. What's the point? In the grand scheme of things why is this newsworthy? Other than to stir more Villa shit from someone who appears to revel in it.
