I think it'll still all end in tears and recriminations, but I can't see there being that many tears and that many recriminations that quickly.

Isn't that how the vast majority of manager/club partnerships end up? It's hardly the most enlightened prediction....

A safe bet. The average time in post for a premiership manager is about a year so most must end in tears.

Quite, but at least it was one that I was making months ago...

Love the confidence but it's rather easy to say the right things - whether he can turn the club around is an altogether different question.

He is out of his depth and I fear it will all end in tears and further acrimony but naturally, hope I'm proven wrong.

I think you will be.
I don't, and it has little to do with how good Sherwood is. Nearly every manager's tenure ends in acrimony. They've either done badly and been sacked or done well and moved upwards in the world.

You can probably count on one hand the number of recent managers who have left a club with both parties happy with the decision.

Are there serious suggestions around sacking him ?! Wtf ?!
The guy has worked a miracle to keep us up and needs to be given time, money and our full backing.
When he arrived I was disheartened but I think he is the man to turn the club about. I just hope he doesn't give up on us and walk away.

I want to see if he has a bit more about him than sheer fist pumping motivation.  However, lest we forget the Hull away defeat.  Look at the abject state we were in that night.  22 points was it? 13 goals? Virtually every player out of form.  I don't think we can underestimate what a massive achievement it was to get that team to 17th in not exactly a long time to do it.

I believe the onus is now well and truly back on the owner to back the guy with decent money for signings.

He should be given until Xmas but please if we are struggling no more give him more time bollocks that nearly got us relegated this season. One of the reasons we reverted to high balls to Benteke was symptomatic of the players running out of steam when that happens a player will take the easy option if his team mates are not running in to space.

Amen to that, brother.

I can almost hear the "he needs another window" posts. Hopefully 'stability' has been decapitated, chainsawed up, set fire to, buried in a concrete coffin and dumped in the middle of the North Atlantic.

Thinking about this overnight made me realise what an impossible job Tim Sherwood has on his hands, In theory he would need to replace the entire defence with the exception of Clark. It looks as if Cleverley is signing for poor hard up Everton (on a five year contract!) and neither Westwood or Sanchez are of the required standard so that leaves just Delph in midfield .Up front the goalscorer Benteke is off so where do the goals come from?

Randy may or may not be going so TS cannot be sure where he stands regarding finance for new players. If Randy stays he is going to get the bare minimum which will mean another relegation fight on our hands. If Randy actually sells the new owners might want to bring their own people in,as they have every right to do.

I feel sorry for him. As another poster pointed out, the players have got used to his ways now and know what they can get away with.
One or two are on well paid long contracts so there is not a cat in hells chance he will be able to get them out of the club even though he
might want to desperately.

To summarise.  If he keeps us in this division next year he deserves the Manager of The Year award,

I know the last few performances have suckered us all a bit, but given the upturn the man managed in no time at all, is it impossible to think he may be able to further improve individuals already at the club, and the group as a whole with a full pre season?

This could be a very frustrating summer ahead for TS the way things are starting to pan out. The amount of quality players required to rebuild this team isn't going to be an easy task without proper financial backing.

Isn't that pretty much every manager, ever?

One thing I do know, if Randy doesn't back him in the transfer market - significantly - then we are not going to improve much next season.
