At worst, he'll end up a sort of managerial Darren Bent for us - inadequate long-term, but the only thing which could've saved us in the short-term. But that's the worst-case. Realistically, very few of us know which of the two Sherwoods we've been presented with is the real one, but given the striking resemblence of 'team Bad Sherwood' to 'team Lambert', I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

This post sums my opinion up pretty well.

The 'losing mentality' Sherwood mentioned is something that people have been pointing out for some time, and I think shaking that off is just as important as improving the quality of players we have.

As performances have suggested, he has the ability to get the best out of players, and hopefully that will continue next season.

However, I do think he made a big mistake starting Hutton. With that he set the tone that we were not going to go out to attack and go at them like we've done in our best games under him. I think he also got the subs wrong.

It wasn't all his fault, the players should take a lot of blame as well.

I've liked his attitude on the whole so far, but I have a feelin the Billy-Big-Bollocks routine may not last the whole of next season.

Hopefully he continues with the attacking theme though. Do that, and I'll be happy.

Sherwood employed clueless tactics and wrong team selection yesterday. He said he tried to stop Arsenal. If he wanted to do that why didn't he copy what Clarke and Monk did?

He set the team up the same as in the semi final, paying no heed to the opposition in the process.

Maybe opting for the stronger defender in Hutton over Bacuna but that was it.

Arsenal are far more mobile and slicker in midfield than the Henderson/Allen/Gerrard trio.

Coquelin and the brilliant Cazorla sat deep with the three of Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez ahead of them.

Grealish or Nzogbia neither pressed Coquelin or Cazorla nor offered cover on the wings.

I dont rate Wenger tactically and think he has been stealing a living for years but he absolutely rinsed tactics tim yesterday.

Arsenal overloaded the midfield and Sanchez targeted the channel between Okore and Hutton brilliantly.

Starting Walcott was a master stroke, he nearly always plays well against us

I disagree. The teams attitude did not suggest they were going out to attack like in previous matches. I don't think that's all down to the players. They wouldn't have done that on their own.

I also wish we had a manager as bad as Wenger.

Practically every pass Arsenal attempted yesterday ended up with an Arsenal player. I don't care if you're a 'bad' manager, if you can make a team that's capable of doing that, you'll win more than you'll lose.

Exactly. To get your team to play like that, which they've done for such a long time, you have to be a great manager. They're like a not-so-good Barcelona, but still a very good team. I'd say they're the best team in the league.

If you mean best team to watch, i'd agree.

Sherwood said before the game that the selection of Walcott meant that the team's tactic would change.  I think the defence sat too deep, fearing Walcott's pace, and consequently the midfield was over-run.  Sherwood should have either demanded that the defence set their line 10m higher up the pitch or instructed Grealish/Nzogbia to fill into midfield.

Wenger played a bit of a blinder to be honest as their defence also sat deep, meaning that Benteke became increasingly isolated.  The selection of Walcott also flummoxed our plan.

Chelsea would've beaten Arsenal in the final yesterday, Mourinho always has Wenger's number.

I'd say pretty much every other prem team bar QPR, Burnley and WBA would've given them a better game than we did yesterday sadly.

I heard him on TV saying I've already made big mistakes at villa and I will make others.

This is fine by me . Its honesty , he will learn by them.

So much better than lambert who said we were excellent and we go again , every week.

I like Sherwood and think hes done good since he came

the two mistakes I feel he has made is keep picking Nzogbia all the time when the man is hopeless, and the handling of the Goalie situation

but that's nothing really and is only my personal view

We were quite happy to just play our own game in the semi-final in spite of them having Sterling's pace up front.

Arsenal are a striker, goalkeeper and holding player of genuine quality away from being one of the best two or three  sides in Europe.

If they went bananas and bought Pogba, Cech and a world class centre forward, then they'd walk this league and run it close in Europe.
